I've read a lot about wild and bait earthworms possibly having high parasite loads but I'm not sure if that's true or not. I suspect as with most feeder bugs it depends on the supplier and how the worms were raised. I'd imagine it would be important to work with a reputable vendor.

I've seen so many mixed reviews about earthworms and their possibility to transmit parasites that I just stay away and don't chance it.

Parasites don't spontaneously generate in healthy stock. ;) that is to say, get some captive raised earthworms and you are good to go. You can even try your hand at raising your own and do a bit of home composting of kitchen scraps. :) I can't keep nightcrawlers very long. Haha between my tegu and monitor, id go thru literally dozens a day if I fed them as much as they wanted.

I think the important thing to remember about feeders is that just because the feeder has a parasite doesn't mean that it will be a parasite for the Beardie. likewise some symbiotic bacteria in feeders can easily be harmful to beardeds and we could never know... sometimes you just gotta give it a go with your gut instinct and keep an eye on feces and body language.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
