I still remember her first day with me as if it had just happened.

I had gone into work (like a dummy) but then told to go home and work (due to the upcoming hurricane). Got set up, started working, and the weather quickly started to change. A little past 2pm, the power went out and the temps quickly dropped inside the house. I went to the bedroom and got Gianna out of her tank and held her against my chest, underneath a fleece jacket. She was so well behaved for only knowing me for less than 24 hours, and snuggled on me all day long. Though I had already fallen in love with her when I first saw her at Tom's house the day before, having that close of a bond on our official first day made my love for her even stronger.

Yeah, I know, I'm just a mush when it comes to my babies.

You're not the only mush, but it was great that she just stayed with you without fussing. You have a great way with dragons, that's for sure!

For those of you who are friends with me on Facebook know that I'd been having a lot of anger (and some hurt) towards work issues for the past few weeks. It had gotten so bad that I had a major meltdown today where a coworker had to stop me (physically) from leaving and tell me that SHE appreciates what I do for everyone.

Because of my meltdown, I was allowed to leave work early (ok'd by my former supervisor). After spending about a half hour saying hello to all of my babies (and cleaning up their messes) and then changing my clothes, I went back to Pookie and asked if he wanted to come out to play, that I really needed hugs from him because I had a really bad day. He looked up at me, then at my hand (that was down at his level waiting for him to climb up on), the up at me again, but this time with sad puppy dog eyes, then he slowly climbed up onto my hand and up my arm. I picked him up, held him against my chest, and lightly hugged him. That's when he reached up and gave me two very gentle kisses on my chin. At fist I thought he was eating my hair, but when I looked down, he didn't have any hair in his mouth and his head was a couple of inches below my chin. Of course, I immediately hugged him tighter and told him that I loved him, and that's when he gave me another kiss.

Nearly 5 hours later, he's still snuggled on me. I love my Pookie sooo much!

I know you've been having a lot of stress at work, I'm so glad Pookie was there to love you & make you feel better. Hopefully, when you get back on Monday, things will change for you. It's just not worth bearkdowns, but then again, it's hard to change your job, that I understand fully. So hopefully you can find a way to de-stress from what is happening at work, even if it means long snuggles with Pookie every night. He is a very special beardie, so attuned to you, you're a lucky woman to have raised such an understanding beardie :love5:

I ended up taking Pookie to bed with me last night, and he slept completely motionless and very soundly until I moved him at 7:30 this morning, only because my lower back was starting to spasm from sleeping on my back all night.
So, he ended up snuggling with me for over 13 hours.
