Digi is finally back home where she belongs :(

I picked up her ashes from the vet's yesterday. Shortly after coming home, I gave Pookie his milk thistle supplement while sitting on the couch. The box that contained Digi's ashes was sitting a few seats over from us, and Pookie kept looking over at it quite inquisitively. After giving up fighting with him to take his supplements, I told him that the box had Digi in it, that her ashes were inside. As soon as I said that, he nearly made a flying leap over there (with a 1.5-foot open space in between [it's a rounded sectional]), but I caught him just before he left my lap. A little later on that night, I walked over by Pookie's house to get a knife to cut open the box, and he immediately sat up and looked at me like this:  . Just prior, he was all ready for night night and didn't have a care in the world about anything. Well, after I opened the outer box and took out the mahogany urn box, he was even more interested. When I showed him the nameplate on top of the box with Digi's name on it, he was totally fixated on it. However, just like when I begged him to say goodbye, he refused to give the box a kiss; instead, he licked the stand that his tree branch sits on.

I guess he knew exactly what I was saying to him. (well, of course he does . . . he always does)

That must have been so hard for you when you went to pick up her ashes. ***HUGS*** At least she is home with you now.

Nothing surprises me with Pookie and he is always thinking. He always knows what you are saying and even thinking. Don't you agree?

Pookie always knows what you're saying Gina and I'll bet he knew Digi's ashes were in that box and is glad she's back home with you. I'm glad she's home with you, too.

I will always be amazed (to the point of being eerie) at how in-tuned Pookie is to both my and Digi's emotional and physical well being. He would always make it a point to be as close to Digi as possible whenever she's not well, including when she was carrying his offspring. Sometimes I won't even notice anything's wrong with her until I see him taking vigil next to her house. Too bad that I didn't pick up on his "vibes" this time :(

Ever since my "ah ha" moment of how Pookie's whole demeanor had changed shortly before and after Digi's departure, I'd been itching to find out if his liver still had the tumor attached, if it's still twice the size it's supposed to be, and if there are still tons of nodules attached to it. But at the same time, I'm afraid to find out because what if everything's still the same and nothing had changed for the better? Then what? (oh, the turmoil that I put myself through) :-|

Digi is at rest. I really enjoyed having Pookie's company today. Made my day much happier. Thank you!
Yes, she is, finally.
I'm glad that he made your day happier. He has that effect on me, too :D

Jeez Gina, never thought of that. Maybe it's better not to know and let Pookie enjoy himself, period. He seems to be doing better, so maybe the milk thistle is working on him. I'll keep praying that it makes a difference for him, k? :D Guess that's all we can do, hope and pray. :D

Thanks, Deb.

When I got home from work tonight, the first thing I saw upon walking into the living room was a big pile of brown/black ick on the carpet, right next to Zim's bed. I immediately thought that Zim had gotten into something he shouldn't have and threw up. Then I saw Pookie passed out on his outside ladder instead of being inside his house. After putting my stuff down and away, I went to investigate what the ick was and to my surprise, it was Pookie's poop! My baby had actually climbed out all by himself and did whatever (neither Squirt nor MoMo were up), then decided that he needed to go potty. I was a bit confused as to why he came out to play today, as it had been raining and was all dark and gloomy. It wasn't until I went to close the blinds (next to Gianna's house) that I realized why: Gianna was up and out of her cave, and was lying in front of her couch! And I guess she had been doing a lot of frantic pacing because she went potty, too. So, because Gianna was up and about, Pookie felt the need to be in charge again and survey/protect his domain. Gotta love my Pookster!

But wait! There's more!

When Gianna's light turned off, she started to look for a place to go to sleep (I had placed her on her tree branch to warm up after a bath). She slowly crawled over to her cave, but instead of going inside, she was trying to squeeze in between the right side of her cave and her house wall. After 30 seconds or so, she stopped pushing and crashed out. That was around 8:30pm; she hasn't moved since :laughing6:
Pookie crashed on his couch, where I placed him after giving him his milk thistle.

Aww, he wanted to check on his daughter, sweet man. And he also got out of his tank to poop, wow, that's alot of effort on his part!

You're not kidding! Pookie used to only poop in his house, where he would purposely go home to go potty then come back out to play. However, in the past year or so, he reversed it. I will never figure out this guy ;)

How cute that he wanted to check on his little girl. Fatherly love. :love5:

Guess he saw Gianna clean out & had to do the same at that particular time. His daughter was his first concern. He sure likes to keep you guessing. :)

He sure does like to keep me guessing and on my toes. I don't think he ever wants to be figured out. That's his way to keeping his "I'm in charge" status

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
