Sure hope Zoey starts eating those wax worms and crickets shortly for you. Perhaps her daddy will show her how it's done. If not, perhaps giving some chicken & squash baby food would be a good idea. What was she eating when she was still at Tom's house, crickets or phoenix worms perhaps?

Perhaps when Zoey gets a little bigger, Digi will start watching out for her too like she does MoMo.

I had to laugh about that one picture, looks like MoMo is smiling and saying "ha ha, I won, got the hide for tonight!" She is really something. I will be on the lookout too for a double wide cave for them.

Tom fed the babies collard greens and crickets, the same size as what I'd been trying to get Zoey to eat.

When I got up to check on everyone this morning, Zoey was off of her tree branch and hiding in the corner of her house. I again offered a cricket and the wax worm to her, but she still wouldn't eat. I changed out her bowl and gave her a lid instead, thinking that maybe she couldn't get into the bowl.

If she won't eat, I just may have to resort to the baby food feeding :(

It won't do her any harm, Gina, and at least will get her started. It's all relocation stress, some babies have it worse than others & she's still very young. So give her another day & if nothing, then at least give her the babyfood, if for nothing else than to get her calcium & vit/min into her. I also made a salad of collard greens cut into tiny squares & butternut squash minced up small in my small food processor. The babies loved it (Rubio/Issy) and turns out the adults loved it, too, especially Angel. So you might want to give that a try, putting some into a lid for her. Just a few suggestions that worked on our babies.
Good luck!

Gina, I know you're worried about her getting addicted to baby food and not wanting to eat any feeders on her own but since she is so young & small, the baby food will help give her a boost and like Deb said, that way you can mix the supplements in it. Since she's licking the drips of water quite well, that's a good sign that she would lick the baby food with no problem. I know you would feel better about getting something into her. Once she gets a taste of the baby food, then in a couple of days, you could put a little baby food on a cricket or wax worm and that may help get her eating feeders.

Please let us know how it goes.

I was able to get her to eat an eensy bit of squash baby food earlier. She did pee/poop in her bath this morning; no idea where the poop came from since she hasn't eaten anything.

Since late afternoon yesterday, she had refused to sit up high on the tree branch to bask. She'd rather climb down half way and go to sleep :(
I'd already picked her up three times to place her within 4 inches of the CHE, at which point she'd immediately open up her eyes real big and look around.

I just had a thought: Could Pookie's presence be stressing her out??? He'd been staring at her every minute of the day (when he's not busy keeping watch of the street) and had recently started to black beard and head bob at me periodically after looking at her for some time. Maybe I should move him to the other window :?

Gina she is so adorable! :love5:

And yes Pookie or even MoMo or Digi's presents could stress her out... To them she is food and she knows this.
However it takes some time for them to realize that the big beardies can not get them.

Thanks Barb! She's so pretty when she's basking and showing her true colors.

 This is really scary! Shortly making my post above about how Pookie's presence could be stressing out Zoey, he climbed down from the window perch and jumped onto the floor and went over to bother Digi and MoMo. After a few minutes of being ignored by them, he climbed up his ladder and had been quietly perched on there since, where Zoey can't see him (not sure if he could from his angle).

Good that you got her to lick off a tiny amount of squash. Does she like the chicken baby food? If not, you could mix a little of each together.

Oh, I didn't realize that Pookie and Zoey were in view of each other all day, I thought it was just once in a while. I agree with Barb, that could certainly be stressing her out and adding to her stress. Would be a good idea for her not to be able to see any of them to give her time to adjust to all of her changes. Sounds like she was looking for signs of Pookie when you placed her in her basking spot and seems like she is trying to avoid him right now. Hopefully now she will start basking again and showing her bright yellow colors.

That's so funny, Pookie is a mind reader, leave it to him to figure that out. Maybe now that he is in a different area, you can try placing Zoey back on her basking spot and see if she will stay there a few minutes, long enough perhaps to increase her appetite.

I agree with Barbara & Diane, Pookie could be stressing her out, but as he decided to go back to his tank, maybe now that will help. Is there another place you can place her where, even if the adults are out, she wouldn't be able to see them. Babies do panic when they see adults, in their minds, adults are predators, not the lovable adults that we look after! So maybe that would help, too. Adding the chicken to the squash would give her protein, which she needs. It always helped any of mine, adults or babies, to get a dose of baby food when they weren't eating for whatever reason. Didn't take long before they were back to bugs full-time. Keep us all posted! She's such a cute baby but she sure needs to eat!

We're "twinking" her tank a little, hopefully that will help and Gina is gonna do the chicken & squash baby food tomorrow. Bet it will make a difference. :p

Once again, Diane to the rescue! (again, thank you soooo very much for talking me through my self-induced stress)

Now that I have the temps and lighting all sorted out, I'm really hoping for a miracle tomorrow morning with Zoey, that she'd finally eat something and be more active.
I feel like such a newbie :banghead:

But Gina, you are a newbie when it comes to babies, it's been 5 years since you had a baby, it is new to you. It would be new to me, too, it's been 4 years since I had a baby, & Rubio & Issy were 3 mo old when we got them. Babies are nerve-wracking; we all want your Zoey to be healthy & fat & sassy :love5: she's such a love. Diane has always given the very best advice, so I'm glad you were able to talk to her & that everything has been sorted to ensure that Zoey is comfy. I know she's already well loved :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
