So far, it's at a constant 92.8°F. I may have to lower the CHE just a couple of more inches to reach an optimal basking temp.
Wanna hear something incredibly dumb that I did today? I'd been trying to get the UV bulb burned in but couldn't get the unit to turn on. I tried and tried and tried, and switched 2 bulbs that I already had. Nothing worked, so I concluded that those bulbs had been burnt out and needed to buy a new one. Soooo, after I logged off of work, I sped through to PetSmart to spend more moola on a new bulb, rushed home to get it plugged in, and nada! It wouldn't do squat! How in the world could a brand new fixture NOT work! What in the world did I do wrong in putting the bulb in? After replacing the bulb back twice with no success, I finally decided to unplug it from the timer and directly into the wall, thinking that maybe the timer was bad. Weeelll, it turned on in a flash! What in the h-e-double-hockey-sticks is going on?! So back into the timer the plug went and another attempt to turn the darn thing on. Big goose egg! Then, suddenly the :idea: went on. I didn't turn on the timer switch itself! The darn thing was running on the battery backup instead! Talk about a major DUH moment, and spending the entire day being stressed over something that was my own stupidity.

I can't wait to see which girl Tom picks out for me. I'm sure I won't get much sleep tonight from excitement, or end up dreaming some bizarre dream about her.
I'll be leaving straight from work. My plan is to try to get in earlier so I could leave earlier, but won't be any earlier than 5pm which would put me in PA about 7pm.

Gina, you silly goose not turning on the timer switch. :lol: Glad you got it all figured out so you don't have to worry about that, you must have been relieved. Too bad you bought an extra bulb though.

We have the tank all set for the baby. Everything in it is new. It was hard on Josh and me having to empty it totally out though after 10 yrs of having something in it. But, we got through it and it looks nice. The basking hide looks like a Flinstone house, I had never seen that before but Josh found it. Angie checked out the new digs and it has her approval.

I'm actually aiming for a basking temp of 107 to 108 although I was gonna ask Tom what temps the babies seem to be preferring right now as some babies like it a little hotter or cooler.

Well, won't be long now Gina. You must be so anxious to see which one he picked for you. We all know she is gorgeous! You'll have to let us know when you get home with her tomorrow night. You probably won't have time to post pics tomorrow night. SO exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you thought of any names yet?

The two names I really like are Zoey (Greek, life) and Sydney (English, wide meadow). I was going to name the girl Zoey and the boy Sydney, but this past week I'd been trying to convince myself that I only need one grandbaby, that Pookie should be the only male in this house (don't ask me why, it just sort of popped into my head one day).

So, given that, I guess either name would work for a girl. I'd have to see how she is to decide on a name. I may even end up with something completely different--always liked the name Nina--or even Bindi (Latin, beautiful serpent).

Gina, I understand why you did what you did with the timer. We loose power for awhile from time to time over here, especially in the summer, for some reason the heat causes problems with our electricity company and most summers we loose power for an hour or more, longer than an hour a couple of times this summer. Anyway, one morning a day after the last power outage I plugged Rosie's lights in about 6:20 or 6:30 am, the timer is set to go on about 6 am, well, it didn't go on and I couldn't figure out why. Well I finally looked at the timer and :idea: I didn't change the timer back to the correct time after the power outage the day before. A major 'duh' moment. We all do things like that so don't kick yourself too much.

This is so exciting & I would keep the name Sydney, as you may just make up your mind to get a male after all. I can't see you being content with just one grandbeardie! So let us know when you get home, lots of pics & I know Tom will pick out the best female for you.

We have a friend who has beardies. The first two she had when we first met her, one was named Darwin, the other was Sydney, after the Australian town, this beardie was a female, she always refers to her as 'Miss Sydney'.
