Hi Valerie! Unfortunately, no, I haven't finished shopping for the babies yet. Shoot, I only started this past Saturday :roll:
I have to get a blankie made for MoMo (hand sewing sucks, especially when one can't see closer than 1.5 feet).

If I had to, I would've given MoMo back, but I'm just glad that I didn't have to :wink:

When I got home from work, I took MoMo out of her house for some quality time (and also to cool her down a bit). Unfortunately, Mr. Spoiled Furry Butt decided that he needed to go out so I told Pookie to allow MoMo to snuggle up with him and spend some quality time with her. Half hour later, I come back into the living room and only Pookie was sitting in front of the window, all hunkered down. Oh no! Where did MoMo run off to? Upon closer investigation, I saw that Pookie was snuggled up to MoMo's butt (head on her butt, hands wrapped around her tail), and the rest of her body was hiding behind the curtains. It'd been nearly 4 hours and they're still snuggled together, sound asleep.

I am in the process of hand sewing some new blankets for the critters for Christmas too. I need glasses as well so it is a challenge. I have been working on emergency blankets as well. They have pockets to put hand warmers in in case the eletric goes out.

I have been thinking about sewing something I can carry them around in and not worry about them falling off or jumping off. Normally, I do not worry about them but I always have a hand on her because I worry about her falling. I also don't want her to stress trying to hang on. I was thinking about a pocket type thing like a sports belt but one that would go from shouder to waist like a newborn human baby carrier.
I just realized this is not the place to talk about this. Sorry.

I do want you to know because of pookie having a teddy bear I gave Sizzle her own stuffed rabbit. She is not as fond of it as Pookie is of his bear, most likey because she got hers :roll: later on in life. But she does lay on it occasionally. :roll:

Valerie, don't worry about going off topic. It's ok.
You could make something like a baby sling, where there's a bodysuit harness (for the beardie) attached to a neck strap (for you) of some sorts. This way she won't fear falling off of you and you won't have to keep one hand on her body or remember to lean back while doing something.
Perhaps Sizzle isn't a bunny lover? They do have preferences over what type of stuffy they want to snuggle up to. Take MoMo for example. For her birthday, I gave her a light green stuffed frog and she absolutely hated it! So much so that she wouldn't even stay on the same side of the tank. Luckily I had also bought a light blue puppy, made of the same material and same shape, and gave that to her. Well, I had never seen anyone fall in love with a stuffy so fast in my life! That puppy became her protector, just like how Mr. Bear was for Pookie. So, in summary, you have to try different types of animals and the materials they're made out of until you find that perfect one. This also means that you'll end up with ALOT of extra stuffies on hand :wink:


Unfortunately, MoMo decided to go back into her cave today. Boo hoo hoo!

Wow Gina, I would have never thought of that! I already have other stuffies in a bag in my closet i had bought for my dog that does not want anything to do with them. Hmmm which one will I try???

Sorry to hear about Momo.I wonder if they miss us while they are out of sight?

I may have to try my hand at the sling. I would love to have her around more often.{ this way i can still do things that I need two hands for }

I gotta find my pictures of the beardie hands-free snuggy I made... should add those to my etsy store, they make good snake pouches, too, apparently (according to my neighbor boy)

Valerie, here are pics of what I made for my dragons (for vet visits etc) ~ I put D-rings on the sides so I can hook a camera-strap to it to have dragon hang out in the pouch, but my hands are free:

This was my beautiful Xena (aka "Bean") right after having surgery (we tried everything to save her) ~ so she was not in the best of moods... and the next pic is of a snuggie I made for someone else...

BTW ~ my etsy shop is kre8ivLizard ~ working on banner art now, not sure if I'm going to use a graphic of a lizard, or a pic of one of my dragons ... still undecided

Gina, Pookie is a real gentleman, to let MoMo know that she's his sister now & he'll treat her like he treats Digi. I've never known of a dragon that reacts to your girls like Pookie does. :love5:

Deb, lots of new items hopefully added tomorrow... I've been on a basket roll, wanting to try a huge urn style pottery basket... but now I've put together these new sets, and need more cording! Time to make another craft store run argh. New stitch markers too, if I can stay away from the chocolates LOL

At least I put the last 1/2 run to good use, I hope to get pics of Coco's new cave tomorrow... its an inverted basket, with a doorway... just used crazy scraps, she was too sleepy to explore it tonight not sure how the coil basket idea will work for dragons, I spent 1/2 hour trimming raw edges to cut down on the frays (natural to those fabric baskets)... and the cave takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to create, it was a learning curve, but I made the doorway and a hole on top so heat can get in to warm the inside of the cave.
