I get most of my rocks from the Morgan-Monroe Forestry, sometimes in Brown county. There are a ton of creeks close to parking areas, so I probably have too many rocks at this point. They're a pain to move.

I actually have a rock that looks like fossilized brain. I have no idea what it really is.

I've found some great basking rocks at those places. My favorite is this big red slate that I found over 10 years ago. It has those wonderful angled edges that dragons love. At one end it angles up from the bottom, giving a place to hide.

A while back I had the idea that it would be really cool if I used river stones as bedding. It looked really cool, but when it came time to clean out the whole tank, it was such a pain. So I took all but a few that they seemed to like out. I keep saying I'm going to make a hide, or a platform or something with the other rocks, but I have yet to get around to it.

I'd like to pointlessly point out someones (initials DAWN)post count. I think she likes that number(6969) as she's not sadly posted all day.

Pointlessly, Astarte and Bane had a little adventure today.

Sadly, currently my divider that keep them separated is a thick heavy duty piece of cardboard. It's so tightly wedged in there we have difficulty moving it. To be on the safe side, it's taped and we keep large geodes on their side. I know it's not ideal, but they're little guys, so good enough until we get something more permanent. We actually have some plexiglass, but the person we know with the tools and knowledge to cut it is the king of procrastination.

Well anywho, I took the geodes out to clean them, and pointlessly took a shower while they soaked in the sink. During which time, the divider somehow got knocked over. They sadly both made a mad dash to the opposite end. I found them sitting on each other's basking spots, Astarte on his rock, and Bane on her log. They looked so proud of themselves. Bane being the evil little guy he is gave me quite the chase trying to move him back to his own home.

DH pressed the guy to cut the plexiglass, now all we need is to pick up the sealant.

But it did give me a thought. Astarte never uses that log, I think it's too skinny for her now. And Bane sadly rarely sits on that rock, normally he uses it as a pillow. Maybe it's time for some pointless rearranging.

And on a side note, Bane is being a little stinker lately. On fruit and veggies days, he's only eating the fruit and squash and ignoring the greens. The other day we thought he went all day without touching it, until we noticed the distinctive strawberry stains on his chin! And so far today, just the peaches. Little brat.

Well I was sadly hanging on until I posted on a certain someones pointless thread about a photo contest! :p

Thanks for giving me the honor of taking away your 6969th post!

Sadly, Foster was in a photo contest for the theme of "summer vacation" on the Animal Rescue Site, and he pointlessly won!
Thanks to Dawn for voting and telling everyone else to vote!

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.. Whatever!

I really am glad that Foster won the contest. Is he now thinking of a career in beauty pageantry?
Tell him to skip all the sad and pointless pageants and go right to the top... MR.UNIVERSE!

Congrats, Foster!! We're so happy for you! Woohoo! He was, by far, the most handsome beardie (nevermind the only) in the contest! We knew he would win! Woohoo!

I'm soo glad Foster won! I was hoping he'd win. YKYLWBW: you root for beardies to win contests, especially one from this site!: oh, wait, this part belongs on another thread, sadly.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
