thanks i just wish he would be friendlier to me so i could pick him up without the gaping mouth hissy fit. he lets me rub his head in the tank, i just took some small pieces of broccoli and hand fed him (well, used a pair of tweezers)....but picking him up he gets ornery as heck. i know he has to learn to trust me, i just hope he isn't like an iguana i had many moons ago....he was horrible to me.....finally ended up having to get rid of him. any help on the getting him used to me??? i was gonna give him a bath, but misted him instead, he really seemed to enjoy that. will save the bath for another day when maybe he will be more apt to let me get him out of the tank

Mine gets onery as heck too only cuz it just got warmer here in Oregon so mine
is a bit more grumpy now that winter sleep is pretty much over. xD

it's so frustrating.....i just want to be friends! i see / hear so many stories of how adorable they are, and i just wanna play with him! but i know i can't rush things...

Ya know I really wish I was there and show Rocky that new people aren't gonna hurt him.
I would pick him up despite his fear of new owners for now.

i wish u were here too!! might give me more confidence lol. some say just keep picking him up, others say go slow to form a bond, and if u pick him up when he is scared it will kill any bonding u may have done. UGH!!!! my friend from work, her roomie has a dragon, but she and i don't get along, so that's out. i know when the guy brought him to me, i said he IS friendly, right? and he said oh yeah....picked him up and he hissed at him, he said must be freaked out because of the car ride over here....i said yeah, makes sense....but i wonder if he was ever tamed???

Seems to me he was not, I mean nobody was there with the guy
so he could have said anything but I guess a car ride can freak
a beardie out too so it was either the car ride or he just was never tamed.

Rocky is adorable! I find the bath very calming for my dragon, I also wait til he's on the cool side of the tank before I take him out. We bond the best just before bed. If I'm calm and relaxed, then he's calm and relaxed. good luck

well just keeping my fingers crossed i can do this.....i have been reading a ton of stories on similar experiences with other beardies that turn into total babies. now if he would only do his business...i would feel SOOOO much better!

yeah mine just did his business out of his tank...weird it wasn't even bath time...
I was letting him chill by the window...he wanted out guess I mistook it
for potty...he likes to go outside and do it but mainly bath but I just I...
I hate wasps!! I can't go out there...

thanks, i know i'll feel much better when he does. until then am gonna be nervous....lord my nerves goin through the wringer with this little dude! lol
