Ouestion about Leatherbacks

So leatherbacks look pretty cool but what is different from them compared to regular dragons (not color wise). Is it the pattern? Or does it have to do with scales?

Leatherback is a genetically isolated trait that significantly reduces the scales of a dragon. Typically, it makes the colors or patters appear more "crisp" but it's all about personal preference, really.

Thanks for the info. Helped a lot, when i get more experienced or maybe when my juvenile bearded dragon is older i was contemplating getting one. Really like the patterns and the way the colors affect them.
