One eye open

I have a one year old bearded dragon and sometimes he closes one eye and keeps it closed. I have read that it is because the light is too bright but he isn't even in his viv. can any one tell me why?

Is it always the same eye? Beacuse their eyes are so far apart and look in different directions, they will sometimes close one eye to focus more on what they are seeing with the other eye. If that makes sense.

When I take my girl out for a ride in the car she closes the inside eye and keeps the one by the window open to watch everything go by. I think it's like Clydesgirl said.
