Built this to get him out of the 29 gallon starter. Turned a cabinet into a cage. Took a few hours and he's loving it so far. It's 4x2x2 with doors and vents on both sides . now I just have to figure out a way to get him closer to the uvb light
Reptisun 10 t8 . Not sure how far away it is but it's definitely not within 6-8 inches. What distance should a MVB be away from the basking spot? And does anybody know the distance for a t5 HO?

Yeah T5 w/reflector is 12-14''. The MVB distance depends on the brand and wattage - it can vary quite a bit between them. MVB quality can vary quite a bit too. I prefer using a T5 for the main tank so I can control UVB and heat separately while I use MVBs as portable basking spots around the house and for travel - they're great for that.
Solved the uvb problem with a big log. Now he has a new place to hang out that gets him close enough to the uvb bulb. Has anybody ever installed like a small computer fan in their viv? I have 2 big vents on both sides but it doesn't seem to be enough.
A problem may be that your vets are also at the top of the viv. The "better design" is typically to put "intake" vents toward the bottom of the viv and "exhaust" vents toward the top. That creates a little more natural convection.
