getting a tube is hard to fit and will be hard and cost me a fortune to fit in viv ahhhh heads wrecked

Yes it will cost a bit more money. The reptisun are sold in 18 inch, 24 inch, 36 inch, and 48 inch. It should span at least 3/4 of your entire viv. Then your heat source will go where the basking spot is. The coil is going to end up costing you more money because your beardie will end up with health problems and you will have to take him to the vet whichin incredibly expensive. So you want to do everything you can to prevent vet visits. The 2 main things you need to change is your coil light and your loose substrate. You save money by using paper towel as substrate and use the money for the tube bulb.

There are three major things, if you do not have the right tempuratures on the basking spot the bearded Dragon will not be able to properly digest its food.

Thanks Deemac. Poshey you haven't answered if you have a heat source yet? Do you have something other than your UVB bulb?

is it a tube? I'm not sure how much of the difference there is between 5.0 and 10.0 you would have to ask, I never delved into it I just know 10.0 is the absolute best bulb you can get in North America.

difference is that with the 10 you need to place your beardie further away from the bulb. With the 5 the mimimum distance from the bulb is reduced.

and sure u need the heat mat on at nite time that wont go true the tile?????

i would not use an under tank heater. Beardies can't feel the heat from thier bellies. Provided the overal temp of your tank is ok then dont worry about it. They regulate their body heat by basking and then going to the cool side of the tank if they need. If your tank gets too cold at night due to where you live and house temperatures then get a ceramic heater (low wattage) just to bump up the overal temps. Ceramic heater dont give off light just heat so they are good at night. Red bulbs and blue bulbs are not good. People say that reptiles cant see the light but that is a lie. They dont have that in the wild so dont give it to them in your house.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
