Hello everyone,
I've been MIA for a month, so I thought I'd update everyone with what's been going on, I'll probably cut and paste this basic information on my 3 threads, so I'm not re-typing.
My niece in New England was 8 days before delivery, and lost the baby, it was so devastating for all, and I am very close to my niece, so being in Colorado made it even worse. Apparently, there was an infection in the placenta, which caused the death, she went through the delivery, and delivered a beautiful baby boy, all the family was there, except for me. My Colorado family was not available to take care of my 8 animals so I could come home which made it worse, and being so new in the area, I had no one................
I've been praying about going home for a while, missing events I've usually have been there for, along with mile-stone events, plus my sister in New England is having major surgery in a few weeks, and I wanted to be there to take care of her. The death of little Caleb James just made it clear that I should be back home.
So within 2 days, I had everyone packed, 7 beardies and a poodle, myself and my son flew in from Oregon, and we traveled cross country in my vehicle, lock, stock and barrel. I used a large 3 drawer plastic cart for the 3 big boys, a smaller 3 drawer cart for the girls, and always had a dog carrier, and small tank on my lap, so I could rotate time with each one. It took us 3 nights and four days to get there, and I can't believe how well everyone traveled. It was warm, no one seemed stressed, I only had 2 poop accidents, and I minimized their eating on the road d/t them not being under good lighting for digestion.
Even though I didn't make the funeral, I have spent quality time with my niece and her husband and their embracing this time as a spiritual journey, they are very devasted but are strong. I pray they will continue to be uplifted during such a difficult time.
So here I am, at my sisters, all 9 of us are in a bedroom, I do feel a bit homeless, but am very grateful that they have opened their home to us all.
I sent my glass tanks through the mail, (very foolish, I don't know what I was thinking) they arrived smashed, a claim has been started, so in the meantime, I've been working on new tanks, setting them up, and trying to get everyone back on schedule.
Because of everything that has happened, the death, packing, traveling, unpacking, setting 7 vivs up, and the emotional drain this has been, I'm in a full blown flare-up with my physical condition, to boot. (very minor compared to everything else but it's still here none the less)
I have very limited access to the computer right now, so pictures aren't an option, but I hope to change that soon. I have missed everyone here, as well as some very special events on BD.org, during all this, so I'll have some catching up to do.
I have changed my location in my profile to New England...........who knows where I'll end up??? Any offers?
Gabby, Lincoln and Scarlett traveled so well, they are back to a normal schedule, eating may be a tiny bit off for Lincoln, but he eventually eats later in the day...............such good travelers!
