We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy

So Eric, Tara and Leo did come to my folks yesterday & stayed all afternoon. Leo made the rounds and he got introduced to everyone & everyone held him, too. He only fussed when he was hungry or needed a diaper change, which worked out well. He smiled and laughed, especially at my nephews and younger nieces. So here are some pics of the best New Year's Day I've ever had :D

Leo looking at the bear I gave him, Leo's a bit blurry, he kept moving as babies do  :

Leo & I:

Leo and my b-I-l Ian

My son Eric & my niece Tehya:

Eric cutting his birthday cake, he says he doesn't really celebrate birthdays anymore, but he didn't mind the cake and the presents

My sister Gail, Leo and my youngest nephew Ryder:

My cousin's son Alex, he's studying for his PhD at McGill University in Montreal, then he'll be able to teach in any university:

Tehya and her long-time partner Cole. They're leaving for 2 years in London, England on Feb 4, it was great to see them, they make the best couple!

Cole, Leo, Tehya and Alex: Leo was showing off his lungs

And a few more of my babies. Gabriel sleeping, how could this possibly be comfy?

I'm glad you all were able to spend so much time with Leo, Eric and Tara. Maybe Tara's coming around. Leo looked like he was intently trying to figure out the bear you gave him. :D

I am so happy for you that you got to spend time with your grandson. Leo is adorable and looks like he loves his teddy bear. Love the pictures of the family and of your beardies. I hope they keep this up with your side of the family.

I know, right? It could be awhile before I see him again, but yesterday made up for a whole lot. Tara even enjoyed herself. They had a bedroom to change him & for her to feed him, so that all worked out. He thought his cousins were great, kept looking at them & smiling. He wasn't so good with a lot of adults around, but loved being with his younger cousins. I was a very happy grandma yesterday!

Eric and Tara were on their best behaviour, which was great. Leo got to sit with every single person, even the little ones, so it was a great afternoon. I still glow when I think about it!

Thanks for checking in, Jolene, Lori, Tonja, Esther and Liz, it just made my day & started the New Year off with a lot of love :D

So saw the company doc today and he agreed that my left arm was ok to work, getting back slowly, not rushing. So I'm just waiting for the co-ordinator to call me. I'm working 4-8p to make sure I can manage evenings and add hours downwards. I'm just going to ask for a 12-4p shift on Thursday as Tehya has an opening for her photography show that evening and I'd like to go. If they say no, then I'll miss the opening, but I'll make my way over another day. She's leaving with Cole for London, England Feb 4, but we'll be wanting to give her a b-day party b4 she goes, her 27th b-day is Feb 15 & my sis is 2 days late, as well as my cousin's husband. So maybe we can have a get together end Jan, we'll see.

I'll miss my boys, but I'll have mornings with them. It'll be strange going back to work after being off for 3 months!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
