We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy

Snowing here so feel you with the rain but the Northwest has weather like that often from what I hear. That's funny about the mirror and yes I do believe the girls are more like divas lol than the boys who like to show their prowess if I used the term correctly...you know what I mean...Pictures of Emmas new bed and more Christmas décor has been posted. Emilio CLIMBED onto my hand to be held. He climbed up to my shoulder and nestled under my neck. I was shocked.

Yes, I bet. We're used to lots of rain here but the last week has been cold wind and sheets of rain, not usual. I was supposed to go to a party tonight but was taking the bus, had to cancel because it was way too wet. Drag.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get to go out last night due to the weather.
We in the east coast had been having a complete opposite weather occurrence from you guys in the west coast. It'd been in the 60s for the past 2 days.

How funny that Emma was all gentle with her mirrored reflection, as if she was making friends with it, or saying, "Oh my, I'm pretty!" :D

I missed a really good party but I couldn't help it, the wind was so strong and it poured rain for hours. I ended up having the same thing last week, like a stomach flu, too, so that didn't help.

At least the worst is over, it's still raining but not near as much. I only have 1 stop to make today, take Joanne the worms we bought together and then I'm home for a couple of days. I'm hoping the weather clears up for Tuesday, as I have to get to the hospital, a 45 min ride through public transport, then to my cousin's for supper. Then I'm free the rest of the week, get more exercise done, talk to the vet about Leo (found a large lump in his abdomen, not sure what that's about).

I keep praying every day that Pookie is ok, Gina, and will continue to do that until the test is done & hopefully that tumour is gone or greatly reduced. I have faith in Pookie and you and your love for each other.

A large lump in Leo's abdomen? Oh no! Could it be poop?

Thanks, Deb. We need all of the prayers that we could get; same for you.

Thanks Diane, Leo has a large mass at the bottom of his abdomen that showed on an xray my vet took today, I could feel a mass that moved and it didn't feel normal. She also took another blood test (he had the last one in Oct) and my vet thinks his liver is enlarged. We agreed that he needs milk thistle. I sent a message to Gina asking about what Pookie is taking. She sent me the link and it's 3/4 less of the price of what I found on Amazon. I go back to the vet on Friday am. She's going to do some research, too. We think he might have the beginnings of fatty liver disease, so milk thistle is the way to go. Gina just send me a message on what she bought, so I'll order that on Friday when I get paid. He was close to it once before but after switching him to roaches, his blood results were normal. My vet is doing some research about all this, I think it's the first time she's ever seen something like this on an xray. I found a picture of a normal liver in a bearded dragon, the mass that's showing on Leo's xray covers the whole lower abdomen.

This is what a normal liver in a bearded dragon looks like:

Leo's xray showed it covering underneath to the vent and on each side, too. It was quite massive.

I'll keep you updated.

Poor Leo and poor you. Hopefully the milk thistle will help him. Does he act like he is in pain? Thoughts & prayers coming your way.

He tends to have a black beard, which he never normally has, so I started giving him 1 ml of Serrepeptase today and will continue to do that daily. I'll order more from Tracie on Friday, too

Poor baby. Hopefully the Serrapeptase will help make him more comfortable. Was the lump all the sudden there?

I found it last week, thought it was just poop build up as he'd been trying to brumate and I was letting him sleep for 3 days at a time, but I stopped that, now he's up every day, gets fed and bathed and poops. I've never had to massage his belly before to get him to poop but that's what I was having to do when I woke him up. Sigh, I really had a bad feeling about him from a few months ago, but just figured all was ok because of the blood test he got in the spring. There was a hike in his uric acid & CPK (?) not sure if I got that right, but my vet didn't think it was anything serious, just having to get his eating back on track. So we'll see what the blood results are this time.

I'm just glad I'm home so I can snuggle him during the day and all evening.

Oh no! Not Leo, hopefully he hangs in there. I lurk but not always something to say! I hope he doesn't go to the Rainbow Bridge (don't mean to offend with that word).
I am not making fun of him by any means: I want Mr Treefrog Eyes to stay longer I know he's got liver problems but I like the nickname I hope that doesnt offend anyone.
Leo is just so cute and sweet I hope he's ok. Broly and I send good thoughts and prayers. Good luck to you and sweet Leo!!

Thanks both of you, Kami and Makayla. We're hoping the meds work. Meanwhile, I'm doing water therapy with him to get his limbs working and that's going well. Giving him Serepeptase, acidophilus, electrolytes and putting Nolvadent on the owie in his mouth. He ate really well this am, roaches and greens, even though that owie inside his snout at the top of his mouth hurts. Hoping the Nolvadent will do some good (it's an antibiotic liquid for the mouth, put on by qtip.)

I'll keep you all updated, he sees the vet again on Friday.

I'm off to the surgeon and diabetic specialist today and then to my cousin's for supper, so will be a long day. Great to see them, though, and hopefully get good news about my ankle.
