Does any one cut their beardies nails? I am not sure if we are supose to or not? His nails are getting so long and sharp? Can someone please help?

Thank you

Ditto! I tried taking Breyas to the vet for a trim when he was smaller, but they said to wait. the "Lizard Guy" at the pet store said he had never cut his girls nails, but that he gave her plenty of wood to climb on. He said the wood helps keep the nails filed down. Breyas is scratching my daughter's hands to pieces and I worry about infection.

Yes I do!.....I just use a regular nail clipper. Just be very very careful to not cut into the "quick of the nail. I just take off the very sharp tips of them so they dont catch and scratch on everything.

Here is a video I found on youtube and is how I do it....Please! be careful and dont hurt him if you are going to try...better to take off too little than too much.

Thanks! Video was great! I almost bought those $10 nail clippers that the guy was talking about. My daughter and I started clipping Breyas' nails last night. He tolerated it for three nails before he started jumping around. :blob5: We're going to try clipping just a few at time until he realizes that we really have no intention of cutting off his feet.

..You guys are REALLY BRAVE..LOL. I know you can cut their nails, but have never been brave enough to try it..so I spent $17.00 at Home Depot and bought slate tile for our beardie's viv and it keeps her nails down without the stress of trying to cut her nails...(like she would ever let THAT happen)..LOL..

I paid only $3 at the swap meet for the same type of nail trimmer they charge $10-12 for at the pet store. Scorch doesn't seem to mind getting her nails trimmed. Even though we have slate on the bottom of her viv I need to trim them. She gave me a nasty scratch last week when the dog jumped on the couch and scared her. Guess it's time to trim them again.

I take Bowser in to the vet and have the tech trim her nails. I can cut the cats' claws, but I can't see the quick on Bowser's well enough to avoid it!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
