Thank you, and no. We have a 36" length tank the hood on top holds a 24' uvb bulb and my boyfriend is manipulating the right side to fit in a basking area so its a 2 for 1 type deal. Ill have pics in the DIY thread tomorrow step by step and ill PM you when its up so you can see it.

Im having trouble with the basking half of the tank...
after 15 minutes the basking area is reaching 130 degrees. Should I move the light more into the hood? or just get a deep dome and clamp?

I think your best bet is a dimmer switch that way you can choose yOur exact temp
