MY NEW (PRINGLE) MICA

Hi everyone.
Well, as some of you know, I have 6 beardies......Ollie, Pyrex, Bella,Lincoln, Gabby, and Scarlett. Not that I need another beardie, :shock: but I've always wanted a "white" one, so I've kept my eyes open for the right beardie. It's difficult to know what a 6" baby will grow up to be, color-wise, even if the parents are leucistic, etc, so I've been hesitant in getting such a small tyke....................
Well........................., I found a 11 month old light colored male, hypo pastel, that I just loved when I saw him, and he should be here on Thursday.
I know I'm insane for getting another beardie, but they're really are like Pringles, you just can't have one,(I hope this is the last one) :wink: ...............I will keep you updated on his arrival.....he is quite the boy!

Thanks guys, I'm really praying that he'll beef up, I'd like to give him some baby food so I can get some liquid calcium in him, but I don't want to start that habit, I'll see how he eats tomorrow.

Also, I have a liquid calcium question.........you know how we have 2 powdered calciums, one with vitamin D the other without, depending on what light you use, depends on the powder used.............Are there different liquid calciums, based on your lighting? I have the liquid Calcium Glubionate from beautiful dragons.

Christene the liquid only comes without D3...if you use good UVB and change as recommended and if your beardies eating proper diet then they should produce their own D3. If you are concerned about this, which I probably would if he's not eating well, you could give the powder with D3 one of the days per week. That is how I've been doing my girls that are on liquid calcium for about 5 months now all seems to be going well.

Thank-you Michele.........He only had 2 Supers today and has been basking in one spot for most of the day, closing his eyes and enjoying the heat, it's almost as though he's never been under a Reptisun. I'm hoping he'll be in a cuddle mood tonight before bed, no stress marks or even re-location stress noticed yet, .........hopefully he'll eat tomorrow.

Thanks Dawn, I bought him from a couple who wanted to breed but was getting out of the business, they didn't have the time to take care of their dragons.........I'm glad I have him.

I am so happy that you got Mica from those people and that they realized they were not suited to breed. He is in a much better place now.

Thanks Sara, Katrina,Dawn and Phoenix17, he really is laid back and precious, I'm just hoping that it's his personality and not that he's sick and lethargic.

He was basking when I got up this morning, (lights are on a timer), I get up at 5AM to take my dog out and to feed him, then put salad in all the tanks........then go back to bed for a little bit, the salad is in place then when the lights go on in the am, which gives everyone a chance to eat salad before protein...........but Mica hadn't touched his salad at all.
I put my 1st 4 beardies in their tubs, and put Mica in his as well, I can't tell you how much he smells like urine! :bleick: I know he was in sand with his other owner, and I'm sure they didn't change the sand based on the poop that was stuck all over him when he arrived. Does anyone have any ideas how to get the smell off of him, other than daily baths? Well anyway, HE POOPED I was so excited, it was small, urate was small too, but white, so I was pleased to see it. (Would you ever think poop is exciting?)
While he was in the tub, I gave him some squash babyfood and liquid calcium, he took it but really didn't know what to make of it, (all this was before he pooped) I cuddled him in the towel for a few minutes, and he's been basking ever since, pretty much in the same spot, doesn't move around much.
He hasn't been interested in salad or worms, so I'm glad he took some squash earlier. Here are a few pics:

So he doesn't seem to be stressed at all, but doesn't move from his basking spot..........it's almost like he's never had lighting before. I can't wait to see his back coloring, his whole back is in shed, that's why he looks so white, I'm hoping his coloring stays white with some pastel. :love10:

Awww I think he looks very content! Okay so here is a crazy thought... What if you put something like cantaloupe juice on him then washed it off? I wonder if some of the scent would stay like soap scent afterwards. No idea if it would work but that's the first thing that popped into my mind
