My bearded dragon has hardly ate these past few days

Why hasn't he ate much these few days?

You need to give the forum a little more info than that, but we do want to help. Pic would be great. Temps, diet, age, how long you've had him, last shed. Stuff like that!

Ok he is 9 months old and temps is normal. I regularly feed him in the morning and night but the bugs just roam around and he doesn't seem bothered. Usually he eats all them but these few days he hasn't been bothered. Plus he hasn't shredded in awhile any advise?

I have a couple ideas, thanks for the additional info.

1. When did you get your UVB bulb? If you bought it when you got him and you use it above a screened cage lid it's time to change it.

2. If the bulb is fine, check your temps. Off temps can contribute to changes in appetite (just like UVB).

3. How are his bowel movements? If its been awhile give him a bath, he may be needing some fluids.

4. At 9 months he won't shed often, but there's a chance he isn't eating because he's about to shed. I'd look into the stuff above first though.

Pic of the enclosure would still be nice, unless one of the things above helps. :mrgreen:

Ok thank you unkempt1 and he might shed but I have bathed last week and his temps are right and I give him water every day but I had to take some bugs out last night because he didn't eat them. And do u post a picture? But son I'm new to the forum. Thanx any way!!

But how about the UVB bulb? I think that is the most critical possibility. If you have it resting on a screen lid and have had the same one the last 9 months, that's the reason he's not eating. He's not getting UVB rays, so his body isn't working right.

As far as posting pics, you got me on that one. :mrgreen: I don't know how to do it either. :lol:

No no no, his bulb is in the tank. But no worries he started to eat more this morning!! But thanks any way. And wid the pics don't worry I will check the link and try to find out. Thank you for your help! Cya next time :mrgreen:
