My baby is on its way!!!

The beardie stork is en route....currently in Louisville Ky... Should be here tomorrow am! I've been waiting since May 18th...and its been a l o n g wait!!!! I got the pedigree emailed to me tonight and found out for the first time that its a............ Boy! Gotta admit even tho I agreed to let them chose based on best fit for me....I really had my heart set on a girl. I had a name picked out (Fluffy Sue...sue is my middle name) and I hand made a pink bed and very girly pink blanket. Now I have no idea what to name him. but at least he will get here only 2 days before my birthday as he's my Surprise birthday present to myself

Ok...so 105$ later...I have the 20 gallon long now.. got an incandescent light..just hoping the temps work. I do have reptisun 10.0... Put paper towels down which I hate cuz the crickets hide under it. So far he's eaten ONE whole cricket....lol. he seems to be happier in the smaller tank tho. I'm so mad my worms aren't here yet..I ordered them Tuesday. Unbelievable how much I've spent on a LIZARD... Lol. I love the Crap out of him tho... Not many people get that.

Haha.. you weren't kidding about his pink blanket. It's VERY PINK. Looks totally comfy though! The poop looks like an alien spawn... :lol: You should send a picture to Terri to ask if that's normal.

He's very pretty. I hope he turns out to look like Rocket! This makes me even more anxious to get my baby. November is a long time... :shock: LOL

I know how hard that wait is... I'd been waiting since mid may!! I hope you get yer male leather...but what if there aren't any? What will you get then? I've been trying to get out of Terri what quality my boy is compared to the others in his clutch. Obviously it doesn't matter anymore.. but I guess when you think about how much you paid for it you wanna know you are getting the best and not lowest quality if the clutch...know what I mean? I am happy with him tho.. he's beautiful. I hope he takes after his daddy too ( not in hornyness tho..lol)

YES!!! he is glass dancing and running around now. He just ate 8 Crix!! in the 40 gallon he wouldn't move from one spot unless to hide. I think it Wad too overwhelming. Put whit computer paper around the sides to keep the outside world out until she gets comfortable. Only put one basking rock, a shallow water dish, and salad dish...keep it simple for now. That's what I Was instructed to do by my breeder. She said he would die in the 40.

Ok...I'm gonna scream. So I got scolded again br Terri cuz I got a zilla basking incandescent bulb instead of a household one from lowes. Arggggg... Now I have to go return this bulb and buy my 10th freaking bulb this week.

She said 105 is TOO HOT and it should only be 100. I don't get it...from everything I've read babies should be 105-110????????????????? So what to do? Follow her strict stern instructions or go by what I've read?????

She was right about him being happier in a smaller tank, wasn't she? There are more than one way to raise beardie babies. Others don't really do these things she's telling you to do, and their babies grew up just fine. But she truly and passionately believes that her way is the best way. She's been doing this for years so I'm not going to disagree with her If your baby was happy and eating well, you could expirent more. But since he's not, you probably should follow her advice.

I got a 60 watt bulb and a 75 watt bulb today. Plain old crystal clear incandescent bulbs. Others also recommend this as well, not just Terri. I'm going to try the bulbs tonight to see what my temperatures will be. I really hope I don't need 100W bulbs because I have yet to find one at any stores!

As for my baby, I would have to ask for a refund if there's no leatherback. They can't guarantee the sex anyway so there is always a chance I could end up with a female. But I do hope he's a male. It would be amazing if he is as bright as Rocket.

They have taken all of the 100's and soon the 150's and 75's off the shelves for good. I could only find a 150 so We shall see how that goes. At least I can raise it if its too hot. I got my reptiworms in....Eewweeeeewww...they are gross.
I have no doubt she knows what she is talking about... But I am not doing the paper towel as she recommends...cuz I'd be changing it twice daily plus taking it out for feeding times. I just cant afford that much paper toweling. Shelf liner will have to do.

I've been to five different pet stores plus walmart and beards in the past 2 days...I'm exhausted!

I hope you can raise the bulb up VERY high because a 150 watt is way too much wattage for only a 20 gallon long tank. Are you using either an infrared temp gun or a digital thermometer with a long wire & probe end? Those are the only 2 ways to get accurate readings.

They had a few 100 watt bulbs at 8 for 2.50$..I bought 3 packages cuz once they are gone...that's it. However they were white and not clear...dangit..so have to use the 150. I have literally bought 30 light bulbs in the last 2 days...lol.
