good place to shop. Then go to petco, petsmart, or petland to buy. Unless you want to be gouged in the wallet. Petsmart usualy beats petco by a few dollars for the same products, such as a mini under tank heater. The petco on the east side has a poor to enarly non-exsistant selection of terrariums, and very little in the way of automatic waterfalls and such but does have a fair ammout of food bowl and water dishs and a few light bulbs, petsmart does better. Petland has a larger selection of bowls and everything is in a smaller store (IE I found my beardies large veggie bowl and a poop scoop in the cat shelf 10 feet from the reptile mats and vitamins) and has the cheapest terrariums, and bulbs. Lacks a decent selection of fixtures for thier tube florescents though..but then so does everyone else..
The Petco in woodburry seems to be slightly better though I suspect I could rob the place blind..since you'll walk the store forever without anyone to help you...need crickets?..wait a half hr by the crickets or go beg a cashier..seriously..petco on by maplewood mall doesn't suffer from this issue. The petsmart a mile down the road by hwy 36 has a better overall selection of everything reptile..except reptiles.
I priced a terrarium at twin city rep, 189 reg, on sale for 112. Petland for the same cage..same brand..109 reg price. TCR has bricks of eco earth for 9 something I think for 3 bricks. You can buy it by the bag and not hafta deal with unbricking for 7 something a bag at Petco. TCR has used vivs, and large custom vivs as well as large bark hides, the others do not. TCR has the best selection of animals, and feeders, bar none. But I would only buy an animal from them if I can't find it at the other places. 200 bucks for a crestie with 2 kinks in it's take and 150 for a tailess and they didn't seem to be morphs. Oh yea and 45-50-55 for pacmans standard albino and ornate respectivley and they are the size of your thumb print. Petland just got 2 in, plus some other frogs, in good shape for less.
