Meet my baby Jude

So excited to get my first bearded dragon! Did lots of research but still worry I'm getting it all wrong. He/ she shed today which was a bit worrying but as soon as the skin was gone she was running round again like a maniac. This is her post shed. Does she look okay?

Mine is shedding currently so right now it's one of his back legs. But his whole body feels waxy.

He doesn't go off food if anything he eats. Don't worry if she goes off food while shedding some dragons don't eat while shedding some do. Alucard went off food when he shed even though he was poor in health.

I'm glad Broly is a good eater. Jude has eaten about 10 locusts this morning so looks like her appetite is back.

She has a yellow tinge to her beard and belly today. Is that part of her shed, do you think?

Phew, this caring for a beardie business is so worrying. Can anyone reassure me about a strange patch Jude is developing on her nose?

She is eating and pooping normally but just anxious that it isn't something sinister.

That's a shed about ready to come. Or pre shed as some call it.

She's fine. Broly is still going grey.

Gave me 10 year experience with a beardie.

Grey was worrying my first time too.
Brumation where they sleep for the cold
months with wake ups in between was also concerning.
Or they just stay asleep for 2-3 months also can happen during brumation. Everyone hates that part of the year.
7 months -1 year old is when brumation period starts. 7 months olds have been reported sleeping during cold months.

I know some diseases as I have dealt with a fungus called black fungus. My first ever. Broly seems very healthy.

Kami - information is good. Thank you for sharing. Brumation sounds scary so I'm glad we have a while yet.
I've been struggling with temperatures a bit lately with it getting above 43 degrees in the basking spot ( forgive the Celsius reference but I am from the UK! ) I figure because she is in a big viv then she can move if she gets to hot as the gradient is fine.
She made me laugh today as I didn't think she was touching her greens that I faithfully prepare every morning but I saw her hunt down a piece of watercress and attack it like one of her locusts when she thought I wasn't looking in.
We've had her four weeks today and she is very much part of my family. We also have a dog Nancy (hence my username)

And a cat, Leon but I don't have a photo of him

43c is 109 which is fine just don't get it above 110.

That's good then. Just had our weekly weigh in and Jude is now 59 grams which is almost 3 times her weight when we got her 4 weeks ago.
My daughter was off school I'll with earache today so she got some extra cuddles with Jude

That's so cute, I cant weigh my boy yet, too jumpy and ready to bolt.

He'll get a bath soon he seems to be ok with that not the towel though. Hates the towel.

Happy Valentines Day! Jude has an appetite on her today and seems to get bigger by the minute!

It's like an explosion in a glitter factory here as I have been helping Maisy make a kaleidoscope. Jude loves watching everything we're doing.

Yah she's shed her face at last but still waiting on legs and tail. She ate a record 40 locusts today!
