Loud alarm?

So I was recently diagnosed with narcolepsy. I don't wake up well in the morning and my dad said he could get me an alarm I would wake up to but it's very very very loud. Like ear piercing. Would this startle or hurt the beardies?

They hear quite well so it might be very upsetting to them . I wonder if there were some other device that could wake you by means of vibrations on a pillow or something where a bright light would come on and shine directly on your face ? Just throwing that out there. I'm a pretty light sleeper and wake easily, but I know that your condition causes you to have abnormal sleep patterns.
