Lilly and Lyla

I finally got my new baby today! She has done great so far. Other than a dark belly she has shown no signs of relocation stress. At 6 months and 104 gm, she ate a meal that would have rivaled my boyfriends 10 month old, 314 gm dragon. She had hornworms, butterworms, and crickets. We actually had to cut her off on cricket because I stupidly bought some that were way to big (we picked out the littlest ones). I have already taken several pictures so I just have to share. I will be updating this post periodically with more pictures and stories. (I have to add my funny cricket story here. Yesterday I went to feeder's supply to get crickets because I won't be able to get bulk until monday. A girl in her 20s or so was helping me. She had jeans on with torn knees. As she was almost done with my crickets she says "Oh my gosh". "What?" I asked. "A cricket just crawled into my pants." She hurried off to go take care of it and another worker came to finish my cricket order. I found it hilarious).

Loved the video, Sara! Lilly definitely looks like she is having a good time running around finding her worms, LOL. I used to do that with Rex, when she was younger. No such luck now! I will have to try that game with Bligg. It may be just what he needs to encourage more eating. :D

SARA! That video of Lilly is hilarious!!!! I loved it! Too funny how she was biting at the bowl! You really had her attention too, she was zoned in to the worms when you picked them up to toss them! WOW she really is fast! Great idea too, think I'm gonna try that on these kids too, they LOVE supers! Lilly looks great too! She's looking pretty healthy Sara!

And Renee, I've been watching for an update! Been worried about you girl! I know you said the DR was a quack, but I hope you got some good news!

Hello Sara,

That was GREAT, Lilly is so cute chasing her worms like a good girl. She really concentrates too, doesn't she? :D
It does give her some exercise too, that is awesome! She has grown up hasn't she?

Lol, to fill everyone else in, I sent out a text message to several people, including Gina, saying "Whoever's beardie taught Lilly how to play hide and seek is going to be in a WORLD of trouble!" I was taking a shower and let Lilly run around in the bathroom because she was REALLY clingy today, didn't want me out of her sight. Very strange, usually she's Miss Independent. Anyway, there's not too many places to go in the bathroom, so I don't worry bout it. Well when I got out of the shower, I didn't see her, which made me a tiny bit nervous, but I knew she would be behind the toilet like always. Well she wasn't. She wasn't under the towel on the floor either. At this point I'm baffled, then see there's a tiny gap in the closet. Well of course Lilly had gone in there and was just peaking out her little head from a stack of rugs.
Sandy, she cracks me up because she does NOT get bored with it! She would fetch 50 superworms if mommy would let her, but of course I won't. After I fed her today, I let her keep running around until I had to leave (only 15 mins). Well she decided to climb up into a box that had some newspapers in it from where I'd had books shipped and started trying to EAT the newspaper! I told her "Lilly that is NOT food" but she had to try like 3 times to become convinced. She also tried to eat the buttons off my remote and my TOENAILS! today.
Tracie, glad to see you stop by! Today she wasn't concentrating as much and kept getting distracted. I finally figured out I had left the hornworm cups where she could see them lol. Those have always been her favorite, but I can't afford them all the time so they are just a treat for her. I wondered if she would even remember them considering how long it's been since I could get her some, but she recognized them from across the room  . She has grown quite a lot and is quite an amazing girl!

I think that's awesome that she chases her worms like that! I'm gonna try that with my kids this weekend! I think Assassin and Cherri will go crazy for that game! My adult, Mae will probably look at me like I'm nuts, she's too lazy to chase them, I think, but it's worth a try! It's funny that Lilly spotted the hornworm cup! Sounds like it really had her distracted!

Uh Oh! :silent:
Might you have not texted the right person about this?
Lilly hasn't seen any of Itty Bitty's shenanigans has she?
If she hasn't don't let her!

Lol I don't think she's seen Itty Bitty's escapes, but she has heard about Pookie's!
Sandy, you'll have to let me know how it goes! She's been a lot more active in general since we started playing that game.

I knew I saw someone else doing it! Lol I remember I stole the idea from someone, but couldn't remember who. It's a great idea! She absolutely loves it! I did a couple of horns that way yesterday too

Gem would never go for that. If I tossed her worms, she wouldn't even turn to see where they went. Then it would be an "out of sight, out of mind" sort of thing. Could have something to do with her minor disability and her just getting used to being able to walk, but who knows with my Gem....

MoMo might go for it, though. But she's not big enough for worms yet. I think.... I'll have to check on the minimum size for supers.

Lilly is such a silly girl. :p Gem likes to play hide-and-seek. She likes to hide behind my dresser when she's romping, making it a pain to get her out. She's too big for that gap, but somehow she squeezes herself in, then I have to get her out! Lilly is so pretty. :love5:

Thanks Jackie! Good to see you around! I know a lot of older beardies wouldn't go for that, Lilly is just my little nut! She still has tons of energy and is very hungry. After eating 3 good sized hornworms and 10 supers I'm having to tell her "No Lilly, you cannot eat mommy's hair". Sigh, I am goin out tonight with lizard slobber in my hair  . Minimum age for supers is 15-16" depending on who you ask. At 15 I would only feed relatively small ones and of course you have to introduce them slowly (3 or so the first day and then no more until she poops).

The video of Lilly chasing her supers was great. I'm not so sure Chaos would do that, I'm gonna try though. Thanks for the idea. :D Lilly looks amazing! She is so big and pretty!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
