Does anyone know of anything I can buy to attach to the ends of a flourescent tube in order to use it without having a hood?
Something similar to flourescent light control units?
You mean too much of a glare to the beardie? With that hood, it says there's a shade/glass. I've heard that UV can barely penetrate through glass, does that remain true for this hood?
Could you elaborate on the cons of using no hood and just the bulbs?
Yes, too much glare to the beardie especially if you planned on placing it inside the tank with just something on the ends without a hood. With the hood in the picture, you would leave the plastic cover off. UVB doesn't penetrate through glass at all.
Alright thank you for your advice, I'll definitely take it into consideration. In fact, I may just go with your plan. Just one more question though. If I were to go with my old plan, it would be similar to how pet stores place their uvb above the tank behind that flap that would sometimes carry names/info/prices of whatever reptile is being kept inside. Would that still be too much of a glare?
I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
