I'm so excited that tomorrow (10/13/09) my new little Beardie daughter Fiona :love10: will start her journey home! Princess Fiona was born in California,Barbara (fresnowitte) has been preparing her for her forever home in Washington. Her parents are PVT Blaze and Ms. Tiggs, some of you know her brother Bligg. I am anxiously awaiting her arrival! So without further adu, here is Princess Fiona

JEN~ Good idea on the silkie eggs, I might do that. Do you have to buy any kind of supplies, what kind of food do you get?

Your clan is looking so good. They all have budda bellys Mojo's gonna be a trouble maker soon i can see it in his eyes LOL Ive seen that look before. I love the picture where Fiona is wore out from all her hard work.

Yes budda bellies are encouraged in our house! And I think I agree with you about Mojo, he's gonna be trouble! :wink:

I just use the powered silkworm chow that Mulberry Farms sells. Just mix it like the directions say, but hold your nose, it's an aquired smell. Once it is cooked and cooled the smell isn't near as bad though. I don't have any special supplies. My water heater closet is perfect for hatching silk eggs, dark and warm. I just add a coffee mug of water with a kitchen sponge in it to help up the humidity a bit. The key to get the suckers to hatch is keep 'em warm and don't let it get so humid that you see condensation. Once they hatch keep 'em feed. I use a hand held zester to grate the chow over the worms a few times a day, once the chow is dried out the tiny ones can't eat it. Keep the babies warm and again watch the condensation. It's super simple once you get it all figured out. Once they start to out grow the petri dish they came in I put the dish into a kritter keeper so the worms don't get over crowded. Put chow on the bottom of the KK and then put the dish in. My KK is too small to lay the petri dish flat so I put it upside down and it fits in diagonal. If I put it right side up the silks can't seem to get to the food. Upside down and they make a little silk rope and ride it down to the food. Hope this helped!

Wow Katrina, they all look great. Gee, I didn't see any bellies on ANY of them, don't you ever feed them? :mrgreen: I agree that Mojo has that special gleam in his eye, he's gonna be quite the handful once he totally adapts. :roll:

Barbara, just because I said none of them would eat the butters, Misty ate 2 out of my hand when I came home from work. They had been in her tank all day too. Oh yeah, all of the butters are nice & warm & active when they get delivered to them. I may have a lot left but at least they will last for quite a while in the frig.

Diane, this morning I slipped a few in Lilly's salad bowl in case I couldn't make it back home (our roads were horrible, I ended up driving on the sidewalk ) and she actually ate over half of her salad. She never does that. And she didn't just pick the worms out, she actually ate some of the greens!

That's great Sara that she ate some of her greens today. Misty is doing well with her salad eating too. When we 1st got her, she wouldn't eat collards and would actually spit them out but now she LOVES them.

Tee-hee! I just ordered 500 superworms and 200 silkworms for these spoiled little dragons! I'm gonna head to Reptile Addictions to get Mo some silkies til my order arrives...The other 3 are happy with roaches and supers but sorry Michelle, he's my picky baby!! I love him anyway though!

You're right about that, he's a sturdy guy! He only ate three of the silkies that I bought :x I gave him a bath and he's happy as a clam now...Guess I'll try again in the morning...

I think he does prefer a few small meals a day...little stinker. He does LOVE his baths. I do miss that stinker though.

I'm sure you do! He's very sweet, he likes to sit with me while I'm on the computer...You'll be glad to know that so far today, he has had 2 silkworms and 5 supers! YAY MO!!!!
