Hey all.. not sure who all read my introduction link so I guess i'll start by saying hi, my name is Tammy.. I'm a 38 year old, stay at home mommy of one human, my son Nathan (7yrs) and to Jango. My hubby bought Jango for me on Feb. 29, 2012 at a well known pet store near us.."Gittlers". The lady who took care of us there told us that Jango was only a few weeks old when we got him..so if that's correct he should be about 4 months old.. or somewhere around that i'm guessing. Not sure what kind of beardie he is though. He's currently in a 20 gallon reptile tank with reptile carpet and the lights that came with the tank.. I know I need to get new lights for him asap..just need the $$. He loves his crickets (dusted w/calcium 1x day) and he gets kale and turnip greens with some carrots and cucumber.. once in awhile I give him some apple, wich he loves. his basking side stays between 99 and 105 and his shady side stays about 75.

Jango loves being out of his terrarium and looking out the window, 'specially when the sun is shining and I can have it open.. I always supervise him. I don't trust him enough yet to let him have run of the house but I do let him run around on the couch and once in awhile in my son's bedroom, we block all the holes up and keep a close eye on him, a few times he'd snuggle with my son's stuffed animals and go to sleep, he even fell asleep once on the dresser behind the CD player. I can walk around the house with him hanging onto my shirt or sitting on my shoulder, wichever he feels like doing. Once in awhile I will take him into the bedroom with all the fish... yeah.. we have lots of fish.. mostly Chiclids.. 75 gallon, 55 gallon, a few 20 gallons, 10 gallons and a 5 gallon..oh also got a 29 gallon with gold fish in it.. hubby wants to get another 55 gallon and also wants to get Jango a 40 gallon breeder tank.

On with the pictures:..

Thanks :) I just love him and his looks.. so handsome! My hubby thinks i'm crazy when I snuggle with Jango and make such a fuss over him.

Here's a picture I took of Jango on the 14th of this month.. I forgot to post them before

Jango enjoyed looking out the kitchen window while I made his breakfast 7/14/12:

Here are a few pictures of my SIL's dragons that I took while I was watching them for her while they went on vacation.. Fatty Arbuckle is a few years old.. not sure how old.. i'll have to ask my niece.. he use to be hers and her brothers.. Itty (female) and Bitty (male) are almost a year old.. the male is a leatherback.. the female some sorta starburst?.. but she looks something like Jango almost..just bigger. She keeps Itty and Bitty together in a 55 gal. tank.. I have told her about separating them but she insists on keeping them together.. She also has crush walnut shells in their tanks.. I've told her about that too but still she insists that they are fine. So please don't yell at me for the stuff.. They aren't mine and I have told her.

Fatty Arbuckle.. you can see why he's named that (his feet and some of his tail are stained from the sand my niece use to keep him on):

They're lovely. Hmmm... would your SIL be interested in joining BD.org? Maybe she's just the type where she has to be the one to decide. Good luck.

She's very busy.. she has 2 teenage daughters, plus my brother's teenage son and she's a correctional officer (same with my brother) at our county prison..she's constantly on the run somewhere and she rarely ever gets on a computer.. I have mentioned it though.

I asked my niece about how old Fatty Arbuckle is (his name use to be nebula).. she said he wasn't a baby when they got him so she wasn't sure about his age.. except she knows he's over 2 years.. mabie 3 or 4.

Had Jango outside on his harness yesterday evening for awhile since it was nice and warm.. he loved it.. he heard crickets and wanted down so I left him down.. he went exploring for them.. never did find them.. I wouldn't of left him eat them though if he did find them. He did chomp down on a leaf of some sort though.. he must've not liked it though.. he didn't eat any of it and I gave him a good talkin' to about eating stuff we don't know what it is and how some things can make him sick.. and we don't want that.. he just looked at me like I was crazy. When I brought him in and put him in his home.. he didn't want to go to sleep.. it was after his lights out but lately he doesn't want to go to sleep right away. He did manage to get under his hideout log and fall asleep though within no time. He stayed there until 10am this morning  I lifted his log up and got him out.. he was pretty cold so I placed him on his other log under his basking light and that's where he's been ever since.

WOW! that is one big beardie. My girl looks like a twig compared to him. They really are adorable. Walnut shells? That is a new one on me. I don't think they sell it around here. Doesn't sound like fun walking on it. They must eat really good.

yeah it's walnut shell ground up finely.. the one thing I did like about it when I was watching them was it was easy to clean up the mess.. they had a scooper that the shell fell right through but the mess stayed in.

Jango got to hang out at the livingroom window for abit today.. he also got a bath wich he didn't care for as usual. The top of his head and his arms are looking like they are gonna shed soon.. he just shed around his nose last week. Went grocery shopping today and bought him some Romaine.. see if he likes that.. along with a sweet potato, cucumber and carrots.. he's so picky.. I have no clue what to get him.. the only thing i'm sure he likes is apples.

Jango is really cute but your SIL's beardies are something else, they are very well fed!Nero is shedding also but he never cares about it much.

Have you ever tried to give jango squash?Nero really likes his summer squash.I hope you find something else that Jango really likes. Our fig tree in our backyard just had lots of figs so i hope nero likes them

Thanks Lara.. yes my SIL keeps her beardies fed very well and they eat their veggies as well as crickets and yes I tried acorn squash with Jango.. he ate it some but after awhile he didn't seem to care for it anymore.. I tried to give him blueberries today but he didn't like them either.. he's very picky.. today I mixed some romaine in with his kale along with some carrot, cucumber, sweet potato and apple shreds.. see if eats any of that.

The past few days i've had Jango outside when it was nice and not rainy. We sat down in the yard while my son jumped on his trampoline the other day, Jango loved being in the sun. He was just relaxing on my shoulder watching Nathan jump and be silly until my hubby tore out one of our old clothes post and walked with it past the setting sun and the shadow scared him and he ran to the safety of my hair, LOL. After awhile he got brave and ventured back out onto my shoulder until he heard a cricket chirping in the nearby weeds.. he then jumped down and ran towards the noise.. glad I had his harness on or he would've went missing.. I didn't let him into the weeds though.. they were too thick and he'd get lost or tangled. I picked him up and put him back on my shoulder but he didn't want that.. he took off down to the ground again and back towards the weeds.. once again I picked him up after laughing at him being so persistant.. it was time to go in anyways.. we started for the house, Jango on my shoulder once again until he decided he didn't want in.. he wanted that cricket.. that little stinker climbed down my back onto the ground and took off for the weeds again, a good 20 feet away.. he really wanted that cricket.. I left him run back up there then picked him up, turned him towards me and told him "you can not have the cricket" placed him back onto my shoulder and finally got back in the house with him.. it was past his bed time so I placed him back into his home where he just layed where I placed him and went to sleep. Jango also has been having fun playing with my son.. or should I say my son has had fun playing with Jango.. LOL.. Nathan says they are "brothers". They play Xbox, Star Wars.. etc. The past two days when it's lights out for Jango..well even before lights out.. he's been kicking up his carpet and climbing under it to go to sleep.. the night before I wasn't home so my hubby found him like that and picked him up and put him on his log hide where he usually sleeps.. then tonight he did the same thing so I got him up and layed him in the same spot but on the carpet, not under it.. and placed one of his "blanky's" over him.. not sure why he suddenly decided to do this.. hmmm.. anyways.. here some pics over the past few days.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
