Jace, Zy, Sorin, Ava, Nissa, & Koth -->Update 12-18 w/ Pics

Hello,
I'm relatively new to this website, though I have posted questions prior to this "blog." I fell in love with bearded dragons on a trip to Petco. I've always wanted a reptile and I have a dragon statue collection at home so it seemed perfect. Jace, however, was not my first beardie. My first beardie was one of the two smaller ones. The employees hadn't gotten around to putting on of the little ones up for adoption because he would have a seizure whenever he was picked up. They were pretty sure the one I had picked wasn't the seizure one. I bought him the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and am sad to say I returned him that following Monday. This one had seizures whenever he was put down. I knew, being a new owner, that it would be better for the both of us if I returned him to Petco and that was when I got Jace, the love of my life. On a side note, the two that suffered from seizures got adopted to loving homes where someone can take care of them . Anyways, on to my picture show.

This was my first night with Jace. He no longer has that cage - he is in a bigger one and on tiles instead.

The first week montage:

I loved the way he just dug a bed and curled up.

This is his new cage - the sand in the dig bowl has been replaced with flaxseed

You're lucky Brittani, Lonzo's was too far gone, the guy who owned him didn't even notice that his tail was rotting I noticed the day we brought him home & 2 wks later he was at the vet getting another 2" amputated, it was the only way for the vet to stop it, it was too far gone He came through it just fine, but what a way to be introduced to his new owners. He was very leery of me for a few weeks after that but he got over it and it was already 5 years ago!

Poor guy I dont know how you cant tell them have it. Daisys tail tip was puffy and looked infected. I knew something was wrong right away

I think the guy we adopted him from was too busy with work, that's why he was giving him up. He'd had him since he was a baby but was starting to travel for work...felt sorry for him, Lonzo is such a sweetie it would have been hard for me to give him up.

Well, Zy has had it since Feb and her lower tail is only dark because of the shed that is still there. It hasn't moved at all as far as I can tell. Poor little girl.

So I syringe fed them vitamins, acidophiluz+, and electrolytes today. They took it pretty well, much better than when we first started. I saw a video on Youtube how to syringe feed them and it's been working out well so far.

Jace ate one 3" hornworm and hasn't been in the mood for any more than that. Zy ate almost everything in her food bowl again. She only left behind a couple of dubia and and mustard greens. I think I made a mistake ever getting hornworms :lol:

Cosmos loves horned worms. Daisy just stares at me giving me a look like what am I suppose to do with these. These arent superworms

Liz, get some cocoa butter (pure) to rub on her tail, the old shed will loosen up. My friend gets it at the dollar store, it's in a tube and costs a couple of dollars. You just keep rubbing it on her tail until the loose shed comes off. Takes awhile but it works, I've used it,too.

I got one paperback and one hardback copy of my book today! So excited! Mustn't read it, must complete paper due tomorrow...

I took Jace and Zy outside for about ten minutes. Then Zy started to freeze up because in the distance you could hear the crows cawing so I brought them in. Zy continues to eat me out of house and home. Jace continues to prefer being outside :lol:

I'm not sure. I know you can order it on xlibris.com and eventually it will be for sale on Amazon and Barnes and Noble's website.

In two days Jace went from 297g to 305.8g! He finally broke the 300 mark! Zy, in the same time period, went from 212g to 230.3g! She's longer than Jace was at this age but weighs less so she's catching up. He was 250g. I'm sure she'll gain and surpass it in no time. Everyone thinks she'll be bigger than him :lol: Maybe that is why Jace doesn't like her, he feels emasculated. :lol:

I tried publishing through Xlibiris, but my dad wouldn't let me. He said they were too expensive and had bad reviews. What's your opinion?
