Jace, Zy, Sorin, Ava, Nissa, & Koth -->Update 12-18 w/ Pics

I'm relatively new to this website, though I have posted questions prior to this "blog." I fell in love with bearded dragons on a trip to Petco. I've always wanted a reptile and I have a dragon statue collection at home so it seemed perfect. Jace, however, was not my first beardie. My first beardie was one of the two smaller ones. The employees hadn't gotten around to putting on of the little ones up for adoption because he would have a seizure whenever he was picked up. They were pretty sure the one I had picked wasn't the seizure one. I bought him the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and am sad to say I returned him that following Monday. This one had seizures whenever he was put down. I knew, being a new owner, that it would be better for the both of us if I returned him to Petco and that was when I got Jace, the love of my life. On a side note, the two that suffered from seizures got adopted to loving homes where someone can take care of them . Anyways, on to my picture show.

This was my first night with Jace. He no longer has that cage - he is in a bigger one and on tiles instead.

The first week montage:

I loved the way he just dug a bed and curled up.

Well, at least they are compromising. :lol: I'm glad they love me enough not to kill each other.

Fed and weighed Tess. I got two more wax worms into her so that's a total of three, more than she has been eating. Is it okay to feed her wax worms until I get more horn in? She refuses mealworms so I might start ordering phoenix for her and Ava since I have extra cash - my grandma decided to have me do work around the house instead of paying her back in cash so that's an extra $27. If I can get her and Ava to eat those, we will be set since I'm getting Venser to eat horns along with Jace and Zy. Also, Tess is up to 9.9g! That's 1.4g gain! And I got to pet her and hold her with no screaming! Still have to change her name.

I got Ava to eat 8 wax worms, the most she's eaten in quite a while. She's contently sitting with Daddy who keeps calling her Zy...

So I'm wearing a black tank top for my pjs (along with pants) and Ava decided to climb down my shirt because it was dark. Ava got to second base!
Then later I went downstairs and slipped and slid down 7 steps, trying to right myself. One cheek took all the damage and is sore and rug burned. I can feel the bruise coming. Oh man does it hurt.

Ice is about all that will help, poor you, I can relate, glad that's all you have is a bruise. Glad nothing broken or sprained!

And what a nice gain for Tess, I told you she looked rounder. I'm not sure about wax worms for leos, Lindz would maybe know about that. I know they're not good for beardies on a regular basis.

It seems they prefer the soft bodied worms so I'm going to order calci worms. I think the wax should be okay until then. Too expensive to buy calci worms at Petco. $5 for 25... I can buy 100 for that price!

So here is a rough sketch of the stackable vivs. Do you think there is enough room? Should I make them bigger?

The plans look good! And on the waxworms, they are not good as a feeder for leos either. Leos will get addicted to them and not take other feeders and can actually be more difficult to get them off of them than beardies. They have no nutritional value, it stinks because leos love them so much.

Hmm... I will buy calci worms for Tess if they have any good ones. She'll eat horn and wax, but refuses mealies. Ava will eat mealies.

Thor is not a big fan of mealworms either, but they are the only thing Venus will eat. Seems like all I do is just jump through hoops and buy each one what they like, lol.

The plans look great but Jace & Zy's will need to be more than 8" tall, they'll need to space upwards because of the lights & it's difficult to get the right temps. Besides that, the plans look great.

I had a feeling that waxworms wouldn't be good for Leos either but not having one, I didn't want to say one way or the other. What about crickets for Tess, would that work? You might want to try a few to see if she's interested before she gets too addicted to the waxworms & until you get more worms in for her. And it might work!
