Hello,
I'm relatively new to this website, though I have posted questions prior to this "blog." I fell in love with bearded dragons on a trip to Petco. I've always wanted a reptile and I have a dragon statue collection at home so it seemed perfect. Jace, however, was not my first beardie. My first beardie was one of the two smaller ones. The employees hadn't gotten around to putting on of the little ones up for adoption because he would have a seizure whenever he was picked up. They were pretty sure the one I had picked wasn't the seizure one. I bought him the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and am sad to say I returned him that following Monday. This one had seizures whenever he was put down. I knew, being a new owner, that it would be better for the both of us if I returned him to Petco and that was when I got Jace, the love of my life. On a side note, the two that suffered from seizures got adopted to loving homes where someone can take care of them :D . Anyways, on to my picture show.

This was my first night with Jace. He no longer has that cage - he is in a bigger one and on tiles instead.

I loved the way he just dug a bed and curled up.

That's it for now, but he's a very photogenic man so there will be more to follow.

I have had a good experience with them so far. My only problem is that I feel they are charging too much for my book so depeding on sales I may not go back for the sequel

Jace and Zy (I have this urge to call her Zy-zy  ) are growing like weeds. I ordered that scale for Myah and Mylo but it's still on back order :bleick: I should have ordered sooner  It'll be fun to see how far past Myah they get. :p

Say what?

Jace didn't eat at all today :?. When do they start eating not as often? He's about 6.5months old give or take. I think the hornworms ate his greens and he touched neither. Zy is a regular old chow hound. Of course to prove me wrong she dropped down to 218g. Ugh

Huh. Will have to convince him to eat tomorrow. Will be free all day to work with Venser too

It's been a while since I've done a big update so here it goes. So many babies and so many updates

Jace:
I gave him his syringe full of calcium, acidophiluz+, and electrolytes. Will give him a bath after this post. He's been pooping good despite the lack of eating. Made him a mustard green, hornworm, and wax worm salad which he has yet to touch. I'm thinking of investing in supers now that he is of length but am not sure of what size or how many to feed him. If I can ween him off of horns that would be great for my wallet. He's been hanging on the basking side mostly, but has been exploring the cool side. His energy levels are up so I don't know what is bugging him. And now for the picture update:

Zy:
She is a regular eating machine. I think she would eat until she blows. She also had some calcium, acidophiluz+, and electrolytes. She's enjoying her new basking light. I still need to get a dimmer for her, Tess, and Ava. I think Zy is my only non-problem child.

She's been doing well. She likes to sit with me. I guess she got over that traumatizing shed. She's developing beautiful colors.

Tess:
I told my aunt about her and my aunt said I should drown her in all seriousness . I love little squeaker. She and Ava didn't get fed last night so I managed to get a wax worm in her today. I only did it because she came out of her cave and couldn't miss the opportunity. She even let me give her a good pet! At first she arched her back and held up her tail, but I continued to speak to her softly and rub her head with my index finger and she lowered her tail. So proud!

Venser:
His eating has definitely improved. Three days ago we put in crickets dusted in calcium and the next day they were gone. I couldn't find them today when I went shifting through all of his bedding. He ate a hornworms and a wax worm! Then he gave me permission to hold him...after I insisted.

Book:
I just got in the postcards, business cards, and bookmarks today. They look nice. Now I need to find out how to distribute them and get word out about my book.

Sorry for the overload of pictures, I should start posting more often. I just have such a hard time cutting back on the number of pictures. I love them all so much and love showing them off. I can't choose just one. My job is going to try and find a day for me to bring Jace and Zy into work for an activity for the residents. That will be fun. They're also going to set up a table for me once I get copies of my book in to sell them to the residents and do a book signing. I doubt any will buy them, but it's a nice thought. Again, sorry for the overload of pictures.

So Paul and I are thinking Tess might be confused. She's been out quite a bit today. Granted, it's not bright in my room, but it's not dark, either. She was out again when I went in and I petted her again. She arched her back and lifted her tail. Again I spoke to her quietly and continued to pet her and slowly she chilled out. She is definitely going to be a lot of work, but I have all summer to do it. My work schedule got adjusted to suck even more.

Fir: 4pm-7:30pm
Sat: 6:30am-7:30pm
Sun: 6:30am-2:30pm
Mon: 6:30am-2:30pm
Tue: 6:30am - 2:30pm
Wed: 6:30am - 2:30pm
Sat: 6:30am-2:30pm
Sun: 6:30am-2:30pm

Only two days off. I'm going to cry. At least I will have money to pay for these hungry pigs. Might need to buy more hornworms than I thought. Will be doing the math.

So by the end of June I plan to have the stackable cages finished. Within the first two weeks I should have Zy's, Ava's, and Tess's done. Don't have the last bit of money to put out for Jace's. I am so freaking excited. Also, Holly, once I figure out a theme will be contacting you for some salt dough built ideas for these guys. And will be able to send you the tree bowls :D

Life seems pretty crazy all around. Maybe 2014 will be a more relaxed year..?

I love the caption and pic, Holly!

Even though Venser's eyes are all black, they still hold so much expression. I love that boy and can't wait to work with him more.

Unfortunately it will have to stay crazy until I graduate in 2015. I need the money to feed these guys. Since they all seem to enjoy hornworms except for Jace who doesn't know what he wants, I'm going to buy 100 grown and 100 eggs $75. Hopefully between that and dubia they will stay well fed.

Quick question, I noticed most DIY cages are 4x2x2. Is mine too small at 40"x20"x18"? Should I bump them up? What would you guys do?

I love the pics! I cant beileve that they like being out together. Last time I tried that with mine. Daisy went after Cosmos and then she almost got his tail. Today I tried again and Cosmos tried biting Daisy. I am pretty sure they hate each other. My custom cages are 4 feet long and 3 feet deep but I think mine are bigger then most. I know they like it. They are always roaming around

Hmm...so much to do and not enough room to do it.
Yeah, neither Jace nor Zy have shown aggression towards each other...yet. I still watch them like a hawk.

Don't stop posting your pics, they're all beautiful and I love seeing all the different poses. Tess is getting bigger & thicker, which is great to see, she was such a skinny little thing when you got her home! Ava is beautiful, love her colours and spots, so cute. Jace and Zy are great to see together, they really are good with each other. And Venser, can't get over his colours, what a beautiful skink!

I took Titan out today to sit in the sun (I open the patio door and get sun on the living room floor) and had Didi on my lap. Well you should have seen Titan's display, full black beard (so big for such a little guy), puffed out body. Didi looked up at me "So is that my lunch, mom?" Then he got away from me; did Titan stay away, nope he ran right up to him & tried to bite his nose  Luckily I'm always right on top of them, so grabbed Titan away & put him back in his tank, took him awhile to calm down, what ever happened to my waving baby? And he's grown, he's 16" long and 256g today! I'm very excited that he's doing so well. I called the vet and I'm taking over a fecal sample on Saturday to see if he even needs the panacur, as they get it in on Saturday, so we'll see. I'm hoping not, he's had enough medications, but if it's necessary will have to give it to him. Don't want him to get sick!

His waving was an attempt to lure your babies into false dominance

Glad to know you like the pics :D I didn't really notice Tess was thickening up, guess it was because I see her every day . I have to rename her though, she has too much personality for Tess. Ava is a beautiful little booger. I'm surprised Zy and Jace can be out and so lax together. They give each other their own space. Zy likes being at my legs and Jace likes my neck so I guess they have staked out their territory

Gus - he’s a rescue!
How much water should I be giving my bearded dragon? He will only drink from a dropper when I drop on his nose and I’m not sure if I should give it to him until he won’t drink anymore? Or should I stop after he’s had a certain amount?
Just want to check that if my beardie is ok I managed to get a video of him yawning today and screenshot him with his mouth open does he have mouth rot??? He is eating and drinking normally btw, the discoloration on his left of the mouth has been there for a month but the discoloration on his right side is new
Hello if you don't know about sperm plugs and have a male bearded dragon click this link to find out, I found it really helpful on explaining what they are and what to do about it
