Jace, Zy, Sorin, Ava, Nissa, & Koth -->Update 12-18 w/ Pics

I'm relatively new to this website, though I have posted questions prior to this "blog." I fell in love with bearded dragons on a trip to Petco. I've always wanted a reptile and I have a dragon statue collection at home so it seemed perfect. Jace, however, was not my first beardie. My first beardie was one of the two smaller ones. The employees hadn't gotten around to putting on of the little ones up for adoption because he would have a seizure whenever he was picked up. They were pretty sure the one I had picked wasn't the seizure one. I bought him the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and am sad to say I returned him that following Monday. This one had seizures whenever he was put down. I knew, being a new owner, that it would be better for the both of us if I returned him to Petco and that was when I got Jace, the love of my life. On a side note, the two that suffered from seizures got adopted to loving homes where someone can take care of them . Anyways, on to my picture show.

This was my first night with Jace. He no longer has that cage - he is in a bigger one and on tiles instead.

The first week montage:

So my grandpa, who isn't the most observant person in the world noticed something was wrong with me. If my insurance won't pay for it, he will pay for my doctor's appointment tomorrow to find out what is wrong.

So Jace ate like a beast today. He ate 5 good sized dubia and 14 medium sized horn worms. Guess whose weight got bumped up? :lol: He's now at 276.8g! I'm so stoked! AND he is officially 16" long! Woohoo! He can have supers now if I ever run out of dubia and hornworms (ran out of the hornworms and I refuse to let my dubia colony die down.

Will post updates in Zy, Ava, and Venser later. I'm going to have to dig out Venser :roll: :lol:

I have $10 to spend at Petco!...Now that I have everything I could need :lol:
Will probably go and check it all out.

Since I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, I'm gonna also find out what's up with my back and why it is always short.

So I just had my doctor's appointment. I am being put on a powerful ibuprofen for my back and will have an x-ray to see if there is anything wrong with my back and that is why it is sore. Will let you know Friday what the x-ray says.

And now for the bad news. On Friday I will be also going to get blood work done to see if I am going through depress or if my thyroid is acting up. For the mean time they have me on anti-depressants. I will know more on either Friday or early next week.

be careful with the anti-depressants and make sure you let someone know if you start feeling worse. i have a combination of severe anxiety and depression and when i started on meds it took me a while to find the right ones. keep us updated on how you're doing <3

i've been through the ringer with it too. granted mine is mostly the anxiety problem i still had to deal with the same meds for depression. it does get kind of sucky but you just need to let her know. you'll be okay

It worked for my sister, she needed therapy for panic attacks...severe ones always thinking someone was gonna go in her room
and kill her. She still experiences these attacks but not as bad as they were before. Doctors and therapist she needed.

I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, and get boughts of depression in the winter. I am normally pretty good through the summer but sometimes I have down times in the summer.

That's a bummer. I'm hoping it is just the thyroid issue that is causing the depression.
