Jace, Zy, Sorin, Ava, Nissa, Koth, & Phoenix -->Vet Update

Hello,
My name is Liz and I have been a member of this website for a year now. I have had another blog about my reptilian babies (http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=185026), but am starting a new one. I want to start the new year with a clean slate - especially since it will also start with a new moon. I want to move on from the problems of the past and look forward to the new adventures that lie ahead.
A little about me: I'm twenty-two years old and am an author - (A Shadow's Lullaby by: E. Rexer). I go to Western New England as a Creative Writing major with a minor in Philosophy. I own six reptiles, three bearded dragons and three leopard geckos. I have been with my boyfriend, Paul, for four years. I currently work two jobs - Heritage Woods (assistant living) and Table and Vine (liquor store) though I did try to quit Heritage Woods and was guilt tripped into working there per diem (once a month). I will be putting in my two weeks notice with them in February. Unfortunately it is a sad job and emotionally I cannot handle it anymore. Table and Vine doesn't give me the hours I would like, but I worked out a deal with my grandfather that will help me out financially. Now enough about me.

Pictures 1 and 5 of Jace?! Oh my god. Too much. I miss that little man. Ava is as gorgeous as ever and I REALLY need to make time to visit my godbaby! Of course I need to meet Phoenix SOON. A trip is in order so you'll have to let me know when you have a few hours to spare. I want to visit all the babies and maybe even fit in a lunch date? I think I hear that Chinese buffet calling for me

I didn't realize how much I missed "doing stuff" with other adults...preferably the ones who adore reptiles

I also (saw the comment about the signature) think a new signature picture thing that I can't make is also due! Phoenix should be in them, too. He's too perfect not to share. :love5: :love5:

Edit: Really, I'm just as politely as possible...asking if you might feel like making me another one :wink: Mine tend to come out stretched/squished/and always seem oddly pixilated...in your own time, of course.

Liz, if your grandparents are ok with everything, that is very exciting! And after this semester (don't you finish it next month), you'll have a lot more free time, YEAH. Your university days are coming to an end faster than you thought!

I'm looking forward to a video of Ava, she looks better than she did just seeing pictures.

Jace is my little baby boy. He came out right in so many ways.

I'll let you know what my work schedule is next week as it is spring break. I have to plan a bowling trip with a bunch of old friends who I haven't seen in ages. Going to try for a Tuesday on that as Paul will most likely be working Wed and Thus and I'll most likely be working Wed.

Send me the pictures you want of Batty, Flash, and Vraska and tell me the color schemes you want and I'll have it all good to go. Also, do you want the same picture I used for Phoenix? If a different one, tell me the page number and the picture number on that page. I'll try and get it done asap. Just so much homework. Gag.

I can't remember if you had me PM the pics last time or email, text? Let me know what works best but please...take your time. When you can you can and I will be so grateful! Remember all my botched attempts?! Haha! That's the only reason I'd ask again...so embarrassing

Unfortunately but fortunately, I suppose...I've been put on a mandatory 2 month leave of absence and approved for 20 weeks. So, I'm looking at a little extra free time...THANK GOD it's paid leave. We wouldn't even come close to getting by. Ugh. I just hope I don't lose my mind :? Sounds like just a litttttle too much free time. I need to be busy, though I know I need a break too.

I believe you pm'd me everything you wanted last time: pictures, color, order, etc. My homework shouldn't be too much long...I hope. I'm getting stuff done. It'll be nice to be all done and just enjoy spring break except for a few days of work.

I totally understand. Anything more than a week or two of free time would drive me batty. There's only so much cleaning I can do before it's all done.

Awwww. My Liz You are too sweet. Haha! Clearly you have forgotten that my ideas didn't work out so well and I'm almost positive you let me FEEL like they were my ideas. Either way...I'm torn between just keeping the pics of the babies we already used or changing them. Haha! I'm still in love with it.

Updates:

Me:
Well, where to behind, what to say. Today's my last day of classes then it's spring break all week. Paul still has a class tomorrow. I'm so very excited for spring break and have almost all of my homework done. I'm going to work on the rest today between classes and tomorrow morning.
Today it's a combination of on and off snow, rain, and sleet. To say I am disgusted by the weather's choice today doesn't even behind to describe how I feel. Saturday is supposed to be really nice though cloudy and then around Wednesday it looks like it will be warming up so maybe my spring break won't be a total waste.
So I asked for Sunday of and can't even remember why. There's no reptile appointments - nothing going on. I have no clue why I did that. None what-so-ever. It's so frustrating.
Also, I'll be buying FFrozen on Tuesday! So excited!
I'm also going to try and give everyone play time tonight, but I have no idea now successful that will be.

Jace:
He's doing well. He's eating better than he used to which is good. Apparently he too likes to hunt his worms. It does make things a little more difficult in the mornings, but oh well. Sorin is the only one who could really give a rat's butt about hunting. He prefers them in the bowl so he can snack on them whenever, not just when I'm around. Jace is a glass knocker with the tip of his nose. I thought he was getting better about because his nose started healing, but now he's back at it.

Zy:
She's doing well. I recently found out from Paul that Zy's his favorite of the beardies. She watches every move you make - always tilting her head this way and that. She is a little cutie. She also likes being able to look down on Jace and Sorin. I know she knows they're there even if she can't see them. It's cute, especially when Jace is knocking on the glass.

Sorin:
He hasn't tried escaping in a while, though I'm still always careful when I walk into the room since you never really know. He's my little devil and I love him for it. He also thinks that he's entitled to getting his own way. If her doesn't want his vit and calc then he will fight Paul for it. He's typically better with me about it, though still flighty. He needs a harness for sure.

Ava:
She's finishing up another shed and will need to have her sauna tonight for her feet. Poor girl always has the most problems with her feet and unless aided, she walks around with gloves.

Nissa:
She's a good girl and the only one who ate last night. She's so pretty and is so normal.

Koth:
My handsome man. He doesn't like to eat often - not sure why. He's such a good boy.

Phoenix:
Well, Paul and I have been really struggling to give him the shots. He squirms violently if you hold him too tight and he squirms if you prick him so I have no idea what we're going to do. Unfortunately he has a shot Saturday and Tuesday and my vet is not in the office until Wednesday so if we can't get the hang of it by Tuesday's shot, we'll make an appointment and have her show us again for Friday's shot.
He likes to eat one superworm every other day to keep his dainty figure. Have some cute pictures of him to post.

It's difficult to give Phoneix his shots, right? You have to wait until he's sleepy, that might work better? You'll have to see how it goes.

Glad you're getting time out for spring break, finally having some time to yourselves!

Glad your babies are all doing well, even Ava!

Rubio got his 1st shot today and I can already see a difference, so fingers crossed he gets completely healed. He's back to the vet on Thursday after 4 shots, to see how well he's doing.

It's difficult in that we have to get the needle under his scales which are tightly packed and very smooth. I tried waiting until 10:30pm and he was still ready to run around. I even allied him to run around before the shot to tire him out and nothing. He's never tired.

Yup, I'm so excited for spring break. For me it starts today as I have no classes. Including today, Paul is working 8/10 days which really blows. I'm working tomorrow 2-8, 12-5 Sunday, 4-10 Wednesday, and 1:20-7:30 Saturday. Wednesday will be a really difficult day as I work until 10pm and he works until 11pm so that means I rush home and get all the babies taken care of by myself which sucks. I don't mind taking care of them at night, it's when I have to rush and do it all by myself that I don't like. He needs the hours because he real needs the money. His bumper fell off and he needs to buy a new one in order to pass inspection which he has next month.

I need to pick up a second job for the summer. Maybe keep it through the fall as my workload and schedule will be pretty simple and easy. I've signed up for two classes and they're both on Tuesday and Thursday so that leaves me with a free Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Table and Vine only needs night people. There is no way I'm going back to working at assisted living. Not not way, Not no how.

I know people say money doesn't buy you happiness, but right now, it sure would help. We're money tight on every front and it's just so stressful. I'm out of money before I even get my paycheck. I just keep saving and saving for more bills.

On a plus side I did finally manage to save up the money for this new Irish cream liquor my work has in for St. Patty's day and it is so good. Paul's family is big on St. Patty's, it's their holiday. I only have a wee bit of Irish in me. So I made pudding shots with the liquor last night with white chocolate pudding and dyed it green. It's so good.

I'm glad Rubio is getting better already! Good signs ahead, good signs.

I'm so excited. I'm going to turn this old armoire I have a stackable cage for Zy, Ava, and Nissa. With a ton of help from Paul over the summer. I posted something in DIY about how to do heating pads for DIY's for the leos. If it's easy enough, then this should happen this summer, if not, then it won't happen at happen at all which will stink, but oh well.

I'm going to get rid of the doors and put in some ventilation. If Paul can (and he should be more than able to do so), we're going to wire everything up so it's cleaner and neater to work with. I don't know - we'll figure it out though.

I just want to move furniture around so badly.
