Jace, Zy, Sorin, Ava, Nissa, Koth, & Phoenix -->Vet Update

Hello,
My name is Liz and I have been a member of this website for a year now. I have had another blog about my reptilian babies (http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=185026), but am starting a new one. I want to start the new year with a clean slate - especially since it will also start with a new moon. I want to move on from the problems of the past and look forward to the new adventures that lie ahead.
A little about me: I'm twenty-two years old and am an author - (A Shadow's Lullaby by: E. Rexer). I go to Western New England as a Creative Writing major with a minor in Philosophy. I own six reptiles, three bearded dragons and three leopard geckos. I have been with my boyfriend, Paul, for four years. I currently work two jobs - Heritage Woods (assistant living) and Table and Vine (liquor store) though I did try to quit Heritage Woods and was guilt tripped into working there per diem (once a month). I will be putting in my two weeks notice with them in February. Unfortunately it is a sad job and emotionally I cannot handle it anymore. Table and Vine doesn't give me the hours I would like, but I worked out a deal with my grandfather that will help me out financially. Now enough about me.

So I did get out of work an hour early. It was jam packed for the first 4 hours and slowed down from there - not to mention we had a lot of people working who got off later than I did. So that I was nice. Then I met up with Paul's sister and we went to the Elbow which is a bar. Paul's mom bought me a drink there - half fireball and half rumchada, it tasted like cinnamon toast crunch cereal, but with a major kick. After that we went to my place and she held Phoenix. She who is afraid of all small creatures that move held Phoenix for at least five or so minutes. Phoenix is a little miracle worker and if she can hold him, anyone can.

Forgot to mention that I hate daylight's saving. It's all so inconvenient for my sleep pattern. Well, I've got two papers to type up and a blog to do. I have to do the Power Point tomorrow at school as I've had a lot of problems trying to set up that program on my Mac. I'm still waiting for my money to come in from tax returns to get my new laptop. This does mean that I will not have a laptop for a few days. Inconvenient because I don't like doing a lot of typing on my phone, but oh well. Life happens.

You'll get it done, and it's great that your tax return will pay for a new laptop! And glad that Paul's mom was able to hold Phoenix, you're right, he is a little miracle worker!

He is, Deb. Paul's mom bought me a drink and it was his sister who held him.

He had his first shot today and now we know it has to be Paul to give him the shots as Phoenix will only sit still with me. Gave him his bath after which he loved. He refused to eat today - seems to be an every other day kind of thing. Kristine as the ointment the vet recommended so I won't have to buy any for him.

Awww, they all look great but can't believe the difference in Phoenix, he looks wonderful compared to when you brought him home. Is he going to stay with you? Or is he going to Kristine's? He sure was curious in his bath, looked like he wanted out!

I can't believe the difference either. He is so much more alive. He used to settle right down when I took him out to cuddle. Now he wants to explore everything and go everywhere. Poor little guy tries so hard to climb, but because of his nails, it's really hard so I try to give him a boost when I can.
I would love for him to stay with me, but for the sake of my grandparents, he will probably be going with Kristine once his shots are finished March 30th.

I forgot to post, but my vet called me yesterday and said that she talked to a friend of her's that works with skinks. He said that for TFS it is best not to amputate their tails and to let it drop naturally as it will have a higher chance of growing back without amputation.

Even though we spent hours on the phone tonight and I know I already said it: Just need to tell you once again how much I love you. I truly appreciate you and the friendship we have. I'm so sorry that things have probably seemed very self centered...but good god am I grateful that I have you in my life.

I'm so happy to have read the news about Phoenix, I know you weren't given much of a chance tonight to fit a single word in. I apologize but at the same time, I got what I needed exactly when I needed it, and I only hope that I can provide you with the same when you need it.

Such awesome news! I have an LBC, one english class, and three general electives left to take. Two of the general electives have to be philosophy. My plan is to take both philosophy courses in the summer (unless there is an interesting one during fall) and do my LCB so all I'll have left is two classes in the fall assuming I don't decide on a philosophy. I'm so excited. I'm almost done! This semester is the home stretch.

I knew you could do it! Congrats for getting it all organized. Soon you'll be graduating, wow, this is all going really fast!

And I did see the pics of the leo, they all look wonderful, Ava especially, all nice and plump and doing well. Yeah!

I'm so exited about all of the free time I'll have next semester.

Paul and I (mostly me) are talking about fixing up the upper level so that it looks decent (I hate the paneling is styrofoam ceiling). I have to get it cleared by my grandparents first, but yeah. So excited.

I'll post a video later of Ava walking. It's not great, but I don't think it is as bad either.
