is my beardy a ok size??

hi, my beardy sheila is about 27 weeks or just under 7 months and she is about 22 cm or about 9 inches.
is she or he an ok size??
sry not sure if beardy is a she or a he pretty sure its a he

Is this a snout to tail measurement or a snout to vent measurement? Also, are you guessing on age or did the breeder tell you the hatch date?

its snouth to tail and i thought id re-measure him quickly and he is actualy about 26cm or 10 inches and the age is accurate

He might be a bit on the small side. What is his feeding schedule, what are you feeding him (feeders and greens), what are his temperatures, and what UVB do you have?

as long as he is not worringly small, feeding schedule is a bit slow atm he is not eating alot atm, only thing he will eat atm is wax worms and moths (if i can catch some) temps and gear is all fine dw bout that.

Waxworms should be fed rarely (once a week at most) and wild caught insects should never be used as a feeder. The fact that he's eating so little is a little worrying for a beardie his age. At his age, Darwin was about 18" and mostly fully grown.

well its either wax worms or nothing cause he wont eat anything else, and moths arent a commin thing only give them when i actualy catch one.
he doesnt seem unhealthy he is running round like all day lol, just thought maybe he was a bit small but like i said if he is not worryingly small then its cool.

If he's not getting enough to eat, then it might be the reason that he's so small. What other feeders have you tried? Average size for a 7 month old appears to be about 16". You can make the decision of whether it's something to worry about or not.

well he used to eat crickets but he got off of them at about 12 weeks old and wont eat them since ive tried locust but he is not interested,ive tried greens he tried them once and never etern them since so i dont know wat else to feed him/her

You're in England? Do you guys have black soldier fly grub there? In the US they're called reptiworms/phoenix worms/calciworms. Have you tried crickets again recently? Have you been feeding insects no bigger than the space between his eyes? How do his poops look?

to answer ur questions b4 about food, i went to some stores they havent heard of the things u said, cause ive asked bout them in the past they just recomended wax worms and ye i make sure i dont feed hi/her anything too big (bigger than the distance between her/his eyes)

hey, if you in the uk you can order the repti-worms from this website... http://www.butterworms.co.uk/ pet shops over here don't tend to stock them, but i've used this site for them, but can get expensive if thats your main feeder

I don't think you should worry but if you want your beardie to be bigger when he is an adult he needs to be fed lots of protein (i.e. feeder crickets) and calcium dusted on his food as well. Otherwise he will grow more slowly because of the lack of nutrition.

Ours is 3 and 1/2 months old and he is already 10 inches long - eats up to 100 crickets a day, and two waxworms.

I would worry, my 4 month old is exactly 10 inches. 4 months man
