Injury - what topic creme is best

My beardie seems to have gotten a small injury on his leg. It looks like a few scales are slightly raised near bottom of leg just before the bend in his foot. I also see a few scales raised on the top of his foot. Not sure if he caught it on the bottom of the wood or something, it is the weirdest thing. Sometimes as he walks he will hold his leg up for a second like it is irritating him. It I touch his foot he pulls it away real fast.

I noticed it yesterday, and since then I have soaked him really well, but feel I should put something on it but do not want to irritate it anymore. On the internet I have heard neosporin would be ok, but do not want to cause any additional damage.

Please help.... any suggestion?

Could my beardie at 9 months have been bitten by crickets? I check to be sure they are all out at night when I turn off his lights, but occasionally when I get up in the am, I find 1 still in there! They hide in the wood, and it is such a pain!

Yes, it is very possible your beardie was bit by the crickets. Have you tried maybe feeding him in a separate enclosure/bin? This seems to work for alot of people who use crickets.
To treat your beardies foot, you can bathe him in a solution of Betadine and water. Just enough Betadine so that it resembles that of weak tea. Don't let your beardie drink the solution. You won't need it very deep since you are only soaking the foot/ankle, just enough to cover the affected area. Soak him for about 15 minutes. Then yes, you can apply Neosporin the the area. You can do this a few times a day.
Let us know if it helps! :D

I always just put the crickets in his cage in the am, when he comes down from basking and then he normally eats them. But it’s the ones that hide that I think bit him. I never thought about putting him in another cage to feed him.I feel so bad for him. I am afraid to feed him anymore of these now because of this.

For the betadine, about how much would you say to use? I normally put him in the bathtub but should I put him in a large bowl or something for this? And then for the Neosporin, just rub it on him and leave it uncovered? None of this will hurt him right? What if he licks the Neosporin?

Thank you so much for your help!

You can use a large bowl or rubbermaid type container. You could even do it in your bathroom sink. With the Betadine.. you don't need much.. just enough so when mixed with the water it looks very light brown, like weak tea. Don't let him drink the betadine/water. If he is one who usually drinks while in the bath, try giving him a regular bath first so he can drink or just keep his head up and make sure he doesn't drink it.
The neosporin will be fine for him and yes, just dab it on and leave uncovered. I don't think he will lick it of himself. If by chance he does, either wrap it with a small bandage/cloth or do it when he is about to go to sleep. They generally don't try to lick it though.

I bathed him last nite and put some creme on him. How often should I use the neosporin? Should I put on him just before bed each night for a few days and leave on him during the day, or bath him every night and then apply creme before bed and if so for how long, 5 days 7 days?

Thank you :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
