It goes right down his arms as well - I just couldnt get him to stay still while I snapped it!!

Foster does the same thing too. He gets a jet black beard and black chest and splotchy black down his stomach and arms. Too funny!
And of course I have never been able to catch his arms like that on camera either, b/c he wont sit still. I have the beard and belly pics, but not the arms.

Kazi has been quite fond of the black beard since the day he turned 6months old. I guess its a sign of puberty in some ways..... with Kazi, its jsut because hes a self-obsessed grumpy little man!!!

I think it depends on age and the beardie. Foster has been throwing a heck of a black beard since he was about 4 months old.
Waffle never had one at all until he was about a year and a half old. He doesnt do them very often, and never gets that black or go that far down. Foster will have a black beard for any reason at any time.

Im so glad to hear im not the only one with a crazy 'grumpy' boy!!! Kazi also does it for no reason - i forget how it was before he discovered this black beard!! lol!!! I figure, Kazi couldnt defend himself against all the babies who injured him as a little one, so, to make up for it, he defends himself against EVERYTHING now to ensure that NOTHING ever tries to eat him again!!

Haven't seen our bds do that yet. Are they all able to do the coal black and choose not to, or are some just not able to go that black?

I really do not think that all of them are able to go that black. Waffle never gets that black.
MissT, I hope you dont mind my posting these in your thread, if you do, let me know and I will remove them.
This is the darkest extent of a Waffle black beard.

Here is a Foster black beard at about 5 months old or so
