so is my beardie abnormally big? I just got a scale and tape measure out and he is 472 grams and 20" long at approximately 1 year old.

Sounds normal to me. Mine is 600 grams and 21" long. He doesn't look fat at all to me.

Sounds like your beardie is on track. Richter is 8mo and already 19" and 463g as of last Friday, but he's slowed down immensely

yes see he has slowed down a lot too. have t noticed weight loss but he's a good size
