HOW OLD??

Hello, i am new to the community and have recently purchased a "beardie". I have been researching for a long time now and i was sure i was ready. My lights, temps, diet , substrate and bathing i do think are great. My guy, Wilson is happy :D However, when i purchased him from petco i was told he was " at least 2 1/2 mos old. I had no idea what that was supposed to look like!! :banghead: I have had him now for about a month and am pretty sure that he is that age now. i would really love to see a "growth chart"( for lack of better words), for beardies.
I really thing that pet stores are selling them a lot younger than they claim. And i think that can be both devistating for the beardie and the owner. I would love to hear from you guys and gals, cause I know you know!!

I got my first beardie from Petsmart. They usually sell their beardies at about a couple weeks to a mont or so old. I am guessing daisy was about a month old when I got her.

I have the same question. We were told six weeks. Pretty sure Yoda was barely a month. We have had him a month and a half and he is only six and a half inches. If he were really three months now he should be at least ten.

They tell everyone their beardies are 6 weeks old. My 4 moths old beardie that I just got from a breeder last week is 11 inches long. They sell their babies really young.

Here is a growth chart, but it will change depending on when you got your beardie. They tend to be small for their ages coming from pet stores, but under the proper home care they should grow quickly. I got my beardie at about 3 months and 7 inches long at the beginning of October; by Thanksgiving he was 12 inches long, and now is 17. The growth charts:

Babies eat like crazy and they can be expensive and take some time to care for properly. I have a local pet store that at times have babies that I watch whenever I'm in there and would believe that there age is true. In comparison there where two little guys that where about six inches when I got my newest little guy Rusty who was also about six inches when I got him. I watched Rusty grow to 15 inches well those in the pet shop seemed to almost stay the same size. Then you look at the breeder's growth chart from http://www.dachiubeardeddragons.com/dragoncare/growthcharts.html and there growth rates are even better than mine. How that could be I don't know :) . Steroids most likely :p but seriously it can be a drastic difference depending on care.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
