how often do babies nap?

just wondering how often babies normally nap?

Our baby naps a lot. He's our first so I don't have anything to compare it to. He's active for about an hour or so and then takes a nap :mrgreen:

My baby is about 7 weeks old and he sleeps all the time! Lol. He is a lazy little guy. I try waking him up by picking him up and he just gets himself comfy and goes right back to sleep!

I've had my little one since it was 6 weeks old ( 12 weeks now) and it has never taken a nap, and I've been at home all the time. It goes to bed at 6:30pm every night on its own (lights out 7pm) and sleeps for 12 hours.

mine has never napped, but he does start to try to fall asleep right before lights go off at night. They should not be sleeping a lot, there might be some health concerns. Usually babies are active and watching their surroundings.

He is no longer napping anymore. We did take him to the vet to have him checked out before the two week return frame was over( this was the period he was napping). Aparently he was even younger than the store told us. The vet estimated 4 weeks. He said it was normal during the adjustment period at that age.
He is now thriving and doubled his weight( a whole extra 2 oz, lol)
