So i went to walmart to get some collard green leaves.. I cant buy a whole thing of it because if i do it will go bad. i get to the register and the lady asks me what they are..i said lettuce just to make it simple. shes like i dont think thats lettuce (well dont ask me if you already know what it is) shes like they look like collard greens. now CLEARLY i have like 2 leaves in there..she goes now how many do you have? I thought she meant leaves so i said 2. well i look on the price thingy it says 6.97! i was like nononono that is wrong! and shes like well you said you have two..well yeah 2 leaves! so anyway, they apparently wont let you get just the leaves there. even though i have been going there since the beginning and getting them. couldnt she just ring them up as lettuce and make it easier?! no..she calls the manager over and it was sooo embarrassing. he was like why do you only need 2 leaves..i was like i have a dragon and they just looked at me like i was insane. whatever, i left the store without the greens and i was so angry

We went to the PETSTORE the other day to get somethings and the girl said what do you have and we said dragons
and she said " oh, like on the geico comericial?" I said yeah like on the comercial and left.
Now these are the people that WORK at the petstore. uggggh.

I was in a pet store once with a dragon on each shoulder and an elderly couple was in line and the lady says to her husband UMMMMM Ester stand in front of me so those things on that guys shoulder don't :laughhard: jump off and eat me!!!!! :shock:

I work in a warehouse and we have an exterminator spray once a month, so there are always a myriad of dead and dying bugs around the perimeter of our offices and the warehouse. Crickets, spiders, millipedes, things of that nature.

I have had several people suggest that I collect these bugs and take them home to feed the lizards.

I'm like, "You want me to take this bug, which has been POISONED, and feed this bug that's full of POISON to my babies? Would you eat a chicken that had been killed by poison???"

Sometimes our employer provides us a lunch catered by Subway and there's always extra lettuce, onions, tomatoes and olives left over. My boss will always bag all that up and bring to me to feed the lizards. I tried telling her a couple times that they don't eat those veggies, but she keeps doing it. I take it home because I like making a salad out of the shredded lettuce. At least she means well...

They can eat lettace just not as the main course :3 becuase its not nutrational its not the main food thier posta eat but it id good for keeping them hydrated since its mostly water what i do is i slice up half a leaf of colard greens then take 1/4th a leaf of regular lettce and slice it up real fine and mix it in :3 that way the collard stay wet (so it doesnt dry out so quick) and it give him water but i never use it as the main meal. :3 I think shes just trying to be nice wish my neibor was like that >> he tod me if he ever see it hes gonna shoot it or drown it....

That's a questionable practice at best. I prefer every bite they eat to be nutritionally packed instead of eating "empty" calories. Mine get baths to stay hydrated.

:3 well it maybe ? I give mine a bath once a day and hey likes lettace same as he likes his collar and fancy mustard so long as hes eating crikets that i dust and eating his greens im happy :3

I was sitting here thinking as I read through some of the posts and remembered a couple of more things(the post about them breathing fire reminded me of one thing) My family had stopped by a flea market one saturday and I had my female beardie on my shoulder. We stopped by a booth that had dragon statue in it ( I was actually looking at her china dolls though) She finally looked up and jumped backward.......What is that on your shirt? (My husband was beside me looking at the dragon statues.) I explained that she is a bearded dragon etc........ this woman looked at me with a strait face,looked at the dragon statues and said......"It's amazing that they have managed to breed dragons down to that size after all these years. I walked off to keep from laughing in her face. But I think the sweetest thing ever said to me was this: (A mother with 2 little boys stopped to look at my female dragon at a car show one day. They had asked some very good questions,noone was afraid of her not even the mother) One of the little boys,I guess he might have been 5 or 6 years old,after petting her and wanting to kiss her,asked me"Ma'am will it hurt her back when her wings grow in?" I couldn't laugh at him,he was so sweet,I knelt down close to him and explained "sweetie,she's not that kind of dragon and she won't get wings." He looked like he was happy about her not hurting,but yet disappointed that she wouldn't have wings.

awww, that's so cute. i'm sure i probably would have asked something like that when i was little ;-)
