im just estatic she poo-ed :puke:

LOL yeah i know that feeling, my girl didnt go for 3 weeks and when she did i went running in our living with my family there going "shes pooped she finally pooped!!!!" my family were like 'oh lovely'. you are indeed a beardie slave.

well your temps are good, you said you fed her last night? how late? when you feed her you want to make sure she has 2 hours left of light and heat before you put her to bed, otherwise that can give them some digestion problems.
also what size crickets are you feeding?
you rule is the cricket can be NO longer than the space between the beardies eyes otherwise thats a huge risk for impaction, maybe she ate some too big for her and now shes not feeling too great.
id stick to soft foods right now until shes feeling a bit better.
hope ive helped and keep us posted.
:D

If you fill out the following questions it will give the members/moderators a clear idea of your viv set up and daily routine so hopefully they can come with some ideas to help...also, can you describe her face? Are her eyes sunken in, or droopy?

How old is your dragon?
How long have you had your dragon?
How long is your dragon?
What is the sex of your dragon?
What size enclosure do you have your dragon in?
What type substrate do you have on the bottom of your tank?

What do you feed your dragon? Please be specific.
How often do you feed and what time do you feed (morning, afternoon, night)?

ok so she finaly took the hugest dump in the world, like it scared me bigger than i though was possible, but still a little skitish around eating? and
her tank is 40 gal, powersun 100w mvb, 110 warm, 80 cool, she is on cal sand which i kno yal hate but she been doing fine, i gave her some olive oil and she went so,? dunno maybe she just ate to many crickets( she ate about 20 the night before) then i stoped feeding her. the bulb is brand new(2 months) but her eyes still seem a little wierd, she was able to get within 2-3 inches of it, and poeple said that was bad and recomended turning it off for a day or two, so we see how she does,

thanks for help-im just estatic she poo-ed :puke:

Chancellor, I am very happy that your beardie seems to be ok now but, I want to address your calcisand issue. Please don't get offended or take what I am about to say too personally.....

You're thought of "but she been doing fine" is terrible and it can lead to the death of your beardie. Just because she has been fine up with it doesnt mean it's ok!! Why you wait until your beardie dies before you quit being so stubborn and GET RID OF IT!!! My goodness! If you run across the street without looking 100 times and don;t get hit by a car, does it mean that it is a good idea or you should keep doing it??

Okay, thank you very much.
First off, here is an excellent list to find foods for your dragon that are healthy.
http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html
Second of all, I would really really get rid of that calci sand as it is the WORST substrate you can use for a youngster. It can cause impaction, and with the bacteria from the dragons waste, cause other health issues.
Other than this, your specs look GREAT !
Is this the Rep-Cal with the D3 ? If not your on track !
I would use the Rep-cal every day on the salad and on first prey insect feeding each day for 5 days, and here is an excellent vitamin to use on the other two days of the week- Rep-Cal Herptivite ( comes in a blue container).
You said you can't afford a vet, have you found one that could indeed give care to your dragon ? You can do a google search for one, or hopefully someone here has a link to the herp vet listing US wide.
I hope this helps !
Janie.

hello
you should have started your own topic ok, its not just that you've kinda butted in but you would get more replies and help that way also.
however i will say kale isnt the best thing to feed them and it sounds like shes eaten a lot of it, kale is very high in vit A and oxalates, oxalates bind calcium keeping it from being absorbed by the animal. here is a fantastic list of greens, whats good and whats not - http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutritionframeset.html

you may want to start bathing her, lukewarm water just above her elbows and massage her very gently from her right armpit to her vent, this should get things moving in her GI tract. you could also try dripping a couple of drops of olive oil on her greens.
with this she should go poopy for you. in the meantime i would lay off solid foods, id feed soft bodied worms and a variety of greens.
good luck!

edited to add - i would start a new topic so you can get undivided attention, it would also help us if you listed all about what you feed her, her husbandry, eg, heating, lighting, temps, substrate, etc. how long its been since she went poopy, that sort of thing.
:)

I agree zebraflavencs, that calci sand needs to be removed asap. Not only does it cause impaction but it can build up in their tummys like a rock and they can absorb it through their skin...you can replace it with paper towel if need be.
....with a MVB you need to use a calcium powder WITHOUT D3 as the mvb allows the dragons to produce this on their own.
What is the wattage of your bulb and where are you taking your basking temps?
I'm glad to hear you took out the water from your viv, some people keep a water dish but with a mvb it can raise the humidity to an unsafe level.
One last question...when you feed your dragon, how many crickets is he offered? they should be allowed to eat as much as they can/want in about 15 minutes twice a day and have veggies/greens in their viv all day for munching on. Make sure they have at least 2 hours under his lights so he can fully digest his food...

I hope everything works out for the little one!

The first dragon I had did this too, arching all the way back, gapping mouth and he was bleeding from his mouth frm all the strain...he died minutes later from an impaction. Your beardie needs a vet now.
