Help convincing my Mom?!?

Can anyone help me...I want to try and convince my mom to let me get a bearded dragon (in August, thats when ther's a reptile show I'm going to). She doesn't really know that I want one that much, but she saw me looking at them online. I have 2 geckos, a crested gecko and a gorgoyle gecko. This is the only reptile that I will want until I move out or something!!

I'd think the best thing to do is just talk to her about it. Find out what she thinks and what objections she might have.
Beardies are radically different then your geckos. Not only will they need a very large cage but their yearly care cost can be kinda pricey. As a parent I know I would have never got a pet for my kid that was so expensive to care for and I would most likely get stuck with when they moved out.

I would suggest turning it basically into a "school project" and show them how much you learn/ know about them. If my son wanted anything he would have to prove to me how much he wanted and have a game plan and everything needed. How much time they spent on it and all else would make my decision. I don't think you would have much trouble since you already have geckos (yes they are different) but if you take care of them then I wouldn't see why not.

Although you may really want to own a bearded dragon, your mom may be right. I own a bearded dragon and 3 leopard geckos and in one month the price, space, and time put into the bearded dragon is over 4 times that of all 3 leopard geckos combined. Your mom won't want to deal with all of the care of a bearded dragon if you move away. However, if you have all of the requirements then I would say go ahead in trying to convince your mom as they make tremendous pets! Good luck

I have had to buy everything for my geckos and do all the cleaning (I need help sometimes though). I think that after all the research that I do (wish to buy in August, so from now thats a lot of research!), I will be ready for one. Thanks again!
