What to you mean he tried to bite you multiple times  I don't think he had a great upbringing. He'll calm down after he's been with you for awhile. At least he's eating. Glad to hear your boys are bothered by him, good stuff. You'll just have to take a day at a time with him. Takes awhile to get over bad upbringing, but your care will get the better of him, you'll see. Will be waiting for updates.

Sabs, he does leave his mouth like that. It is actually deformed into that shape, probably from MBD.

Deb, he was actually chasing my empty hand with his mouth open, trying to bite it, like he had been doing earlier when he was eating. Mouth wide open, moving his head around trying to get me.

Thanks Barb. I am just hoping he doesnt try to act like a brat all the time!

Poor guy, his mouth is just like Phin's. I've noticed that Phin gets much more dehydrated than the others, probably because he can't close his mouth. Make sure to give Duckie lots of baths so he can drink, and you may want to consider putting a water bowl in his viv and teaching him to use it. That's what I did for Phin, and he hardly ever gets dehydrated any more.

Aww, thanks Jordan. And congrats! I know you are excited about getting you new baby too.

And Sandi, he my look like Phin, but he has the attitude of Bob. I think he must be a combination of the 2 of them. Thats ok, he wont be me though. I will win!
And he does drink every bath. I need to try to teach him out of a dish, and see how that works.

I have a question.
Duckie is an adult. But he acts like he is starving. Any idea on how many roaches I should let him have before I cut him off? I have not found his stopping point yet. And he does eat his veggies too, and poops every day.

I'm unsure if I would be right, but I would feed him as much as he can eat. Maybe he'll even out after a while? Sorry I'm not more knowledgeable on that.

Thanks Sara! I am hoping that he does realize that I am only hear to help him.
He is on a glass dancing frenzy right now!

Yeah, yeah, let him eat all the roaches that he wants says "Laura the Roach Pusher"!
I dont know if he would stop. I guess he would have to stop at some point. But he eats with such passion and hunger, it seems like he will never stop.

Will he let you handfeed him? I think that helps with bonding and showing you aren't a foe.

Are you able to get him out or is he not wanting to be touched at all? I was thinking if you were to take him with you and sit/lay in a dry bathtub. Take one of your books in with you and not let him think he's the center of your attention so he can explore you without the stress. Maybe handfeed him something really yummy occasionally.

I know he'll work this out eventually. He's had a rough start I'm sure; you'll be so good for him. Once he's friendly again you'll have put so much work into him you wont want to find him a new home. :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
