Glad to hear you and little(or should I say big)Gem are doing well. I cannot believe Gem is already 9 months old :shock: Where has the time gone?
The vids were cute. So Gem loves the horns, huh?! Haven't met many beardies that don't love those tasty little boogars. It seems lately that is all my two want. Wish they weren't so darn expensive and didn't grow so fast. I would love to have them as their primary staple. Mine don't care for butters at all. Speaking of butters... I have never noticed them having a strong smell either :roll: I wonder if Barb gets a special breed of butters... or then again, it could be that darn miracle-gro she dusts them with. :lol:
Glad to hear you are getting out and doing fun stuff. It is so good for ya! You must enjoy your life to the fullist, you only have one, so make it count!

I weighed Gem yesterday and he lost a little weight. He is 510g and 20''. I weighed him after a HUGE poop and it had been 2 whole weeks since he pooped :shock: I'm sure now that he's all cleaned out he will eat like a pig and gain the weight back :lol:

Hi Michele! How are you and Gem? I had to catch up on your thread, I've been so busy getting ready for Belle's babies! I can't believe that Gemini held it in for that long! Eeeeeeewwwwww! Hopefully he's "regular" again!!

Gem is on a week long "poop furlough" again :roll: He is still 20'' and he is 508 (he lost a few grams).
He shed his eyes and lips the other day and now he is shedding his belly and tail base. Not much of an appetite lately but he is doing very well

I know I've been slacking with the pictures and updates but I've been "busy" 8) I have a whole bunch of pictures to upload but I just need to find the time. Gem is still around 510g and 20.25'' and he is having another poop hiatus. Its been about 2 weeks. He's not really eating either.I've been giving him superworm/babyfood slurry. I'm wondering if he is going down for a late-season nap, or maybe has parasites. As soon as he gives me a poop sample I'm gonna run it to the vet to check.

So Gem's poop has gone on vacation again, huh?! :lol: That could be because he has slowed down on eating, but getting a fecal never hurts. Ya know... your little Gem is growing up and is a teenager now, so it could just be a hormonal phase he is going through. I know alot of beardies between 7-10 months tend to do this and worry the heck out of their parents. Hopefully this is all it is with Mr. Gemini.
Well I hope that the busy"ness" in your life right now is due to an active social life and nothing else. It was good to hear from you Michele.

Hi Michele, I agree with Dawn, all of our beardies go through a "hunger strike" around this time of the year. Then they suddenly get much hungrier & eat all summer. The only other time I've seen a significant lack of eating & pooping. It happened twice, & both times the UVB lights had run about before they were supposed to. So every 2nd paychq I've been buying replacement lights. You have a meter, right? Won't hurt to check. Also a fecal would be a good thing, as twice in 2009 not eating or basking was caused by parasites. I don't think fecals cost alot.

He's such a BIG bundle of joy. I'm also glad to hear you've been busy & getting out more. Sounds good. Getting out & about is always good.
