Gemini has hit puberty! He was sitting on his hammock and he saw his reflection in the glass and totally freaked out.I couldn't believe the way he was bouncing off the walls :shock: I was afraid he was going to hurt himself so I took him out to calm him down and I could hardly hold onto him...he is strong! :shock: My mom took a picture while I was trying to calm him down.Check out his black beard

My mom slept over lastnight and she told me that she saw Gem humping(can I say that word on here?) his waterdish this morning and I didn't believe her... until he had the episode a few hours later :lol:
Oh she also brought some 3 superworms with her that she "borrowed" from my nieces beardie and he loved them!

May I ask about Gem's eyes and why they are droopy? Not to be a barer of unwanted information but, this could be a bad sign, unless he is just tired in these photos. :?

Michelle, He's gotten sooo big! That first video shows him trying to be lazy. I would never hand feed him supers or he will get way to spoiled and expect it. It looked like he was trying to get you to let him eat the super without getting off his hammock until he finally did as if to say " o.k., o.k., I'll get off this if I have to to eat that". I can't believe he's 16 inches long already and more than 200 grams.

Oh my goodness Michele, I can't believe he's starting puberty already. :shock: Guess he doesn't know that he's only 4 1/2 months old. You must have been very surprised yourself. He looks great, he's a good size for those supers now, he sure loved them. Guess you'll have to get some more or perhaps your niece has a few more to share. :lol:

I can't believe he is that long and is 200 grams already. Seems like you just got him as a little baby.

It's amazing how strong they are when you try to hang on them, isn't it? Love the pics of him puffing out his beard, what a stud muffin already. Gee, you think he wants to borrow Judas' moose? LOL

He sure loves his hammock and he sure knows how to chill on it, looks very comfy and almost like he's saying "don't bother me woman, can't you see that I'm just hangin' out on my hammock?"

He sure attacks his salad too. What are his favorite greens/veggies? He sure is one happy and lucky beardie.

Misty's eyes drooped a little too when she was that age and she's Gem's sister. Her eyes are fine now, I think they need to grow into them. So, no worries there, all of Barb's babies are nice & healthy.

Holy cow! I can't believe Gemini is that big already! Do you keep track of how much food is in the fridge when you leave for work everyday? Maybe you should, or place a hidden camera in the fridge so you could catch him in the act of sneaking extra food :laughing6:

Michele, you should make Gem the poster child of hammock chillin'. Could he make it look any more comfortably? Too cute for words, as always

Thank you for your concern I've noticed his eyes are droopy for quite awhile now,but I have seen alot of other beardies like that too so I am not worried. He is very healthy and happy

That was my mom's hand trying to get his attention with the superworm. I won't be hand feeding Gem,I have a nice ceramic bowl that I plan on using that the worms can't climb out of

I'm surprised he has puberty already too! :shock: My mom is gonna bring up some more smaller sized supers next weekend for him I was going to order some "baby" worms from the link that Dawn gave me last week but when I checked on the site the shipping was $11.50 :shock: . I am planning on going to the reptile show at the end of this month so I will be stocking up on some worms. I also decided that I won't be putting Gem in Jojo's old cage so I am going to buy a glass tank at the show. Here is the site

Yeah,he is a very good salad eater. His favorites are yellow squash and cantelope,also collards,cilantro,mustards and escarole. I brought some parsley home from work the other day and he LOVED it so next time I go to the store I will have to buy some for him
So Misty's eyes were droopy too? I kinda remember that. It gives them character though doesn't it?
I think Vicky's Pheonix has eyes like that too. It's a cute tear-drop shape

Lol,I guess he does look like the poster child of "hammock chillin'" :mrgreen: That is one of the reasons(among a couple others) that I won't be using Jojo's wood cage, you need glass for the suction cups on the hammock.

Would you look at that boy eat those supers! :shock: That is exactly how Bliggy was when I first introduced supers to him.
It is nice when they do take to the supers... so much cheaper than crickets, easier to take care of and they don't smell, LOL. Ya can't go wrong!

It's nice to see your mom enjoys Gem as much as you. That is so sweet!
