GE "full spectrum" bulbs for basking?

im just curious, are these ok? good/bad? better than my standard house bulb i have been using? im just curious.

If they have a sort of bluish tint to them then I was told NOT to use them...I purchased a bunch of them in different wattages and *then* thought to come here and ask LOL

I have read that any bulb is ok but that the *clear* ones may be best as far as a regular household bulb goes. I use the clear.

So you can use just a regular house light bulb to emit heat, just as long as it is clear? And these bulbs emit the UVA rays that are needed?

Yes, for the basking light they provide the heat that is needed and with the clear there just is not any tint to them so they provide a crisp light for them

(If you want, you can get a cheap $9-12 dimmer switch for it as well, then you adjust the dimmer to adjust the temperature. No need to raise and lower the basking spot or the basking light.)

I use the ge reveal bulbs. Its all I ever have used for heat. These are not the clear ones. Eventually I will be switching to halogen bulbs for heat since regular bulbs are going the way of the dino.

This is a good light to use for basking/heat lamp.. I use the 60 watt and have a dimmer for it.
