Frozen Crickets????

Ok my mom took my bd Dino to vet for me while I was at work and the vet mentioned the only way to prevent parasites with crickets esp with having dogs is by frozen crickets? What is that and where do I find them??

Never heard of them.. I never heard of any silly vet saying such a thing, either!

Ok well I have heard of it before other then him but it was just mentioned to slow them down or something i dont know. thanks for the response at least....?

uh ive heard of freeze dried but never frozen

ok freeze dried?? Ok maybe that was it what is it exactly and do you think its a good idea?

freeze dried crickets are just that....for example ever had a freeze dried banana chip? or pineapple? etc... well they freeze dry crickets and can them. you can get them usually at any local pet store i my self have never tried them as my dragons have all liked live food.i dont know why freeze dried would have less likely hood of parasites...maybe they are bred then immediatley freeze dried in captivity? i researched them awhile back because i was curious of them myself but it seems their is no scientific information (that i have found) that makes them any better or worse for your pet.....good luck

Dino does that with her worms so it probably wouldnt work for her either I just hate the thought that she could get parasites from crickets. And my husband wont let me get roaches lol
