Finn, Venus and Jupiter: New beardie baby!

Spyro is my first bearded dragon and I brought him home on the 27th. He came from an individual that was not giving him the proper care: No uvb, feeding mealworms, sand, UTH instead of basking light, etc. They had been misinformed by a pet store employee (big surprise there). I wanted to start this thread so I and everyone else can watch Spyro as he grows.

About me: My name is Lindsey, I am 25 years old. I have a 6 year old daughter with Angelman Syndrome and she a happy little girl that teaches me something new everyday. I have a 4 year old boy named Garrett that shares my love of animals and he loves Spyro as much as I do. I have 3 dogs: Remington(Remi) is a 1 1/2 year old boxer, Tucker is my shihtzu mix, and the mighty Kujo, a toy poodle weighing in a 4.5 lbs. I also have 3 leopard geckos: Venus, Loki, and Thor. I am attending school full time to become a surgical tech. My life is chaotic, but that's the way I like it.

Now back to Spyro, this is the day I brought him home( I am sure a lot of you have seen these pics in the intro section, sorry I will have new ones up soon) :

I will update every once in a while with new pictures. When I got him he was in shed.... and still is. I am getting impatient to see this guy brighten up!

He does have some wonderful colors. I rearranged his tank today and added a small hammock but he definitely needs a bigger one so I will order him a bigger one this week. He seems to love the addition of the hammock and I am working on making him a hide that he will eventually use to brumate in.

Ok well here are a few pictures. It is still not set in stone but I am excited.

Here is the outside, it is on 3 acres so I can have my horse! Yay

The kitchen and breakfast nook, I love the floors.

The master bathroom, there is also a walk in shower on the wall beside me. I will obviously be painting.

Part of the living room with a fireplace. I love the built in shelf.

One of the bigger bedrooms.

Dinning area, then the doors to the back deck.

There are technically 5 bedrooms... it is just huge, over 2100 sq. ft. There is a laundry room and another bathroom as well. I am so excited.

My fingers and toes are all crossed, when do you find out for sure? The house is beautiful, all that room, all that acreage, oh my, you'll have to much room! Best of luck in getting the financing & being accepted. Wow, my heart is thumping, I'm so excited for you!

I may know by Friday. I am very hopeful, I have been approved for one but I am trying another with a lower interest rate, I am so nervous. First thing I want to do is get a dubia colony back!

I think Venus has went into a little winter slow down, she refuses to go in her warm hide and stays in her cool hide. I have checked the temps like a million times in case it was too hot because that is the main reason they won't go on the warm side. Leos don't brumate and some don't even slow down but it seems like she is, so I will leave her be for now.

Finn is just doing fantastic. Eating tons of turnip, collard, mustard greens and squash and then eating a few of the few horns we have left and then a ton of crickets everyday. He is almost 200 grams, what a champ!!

Well congrats on the house and hopefully you can get the lower interest rate!!!!

And 200 grams? Wow, he's just growing by leaps and bounds. Bet you'll be glad to get a dubia colony again, they're so good for them & easy to raise. So much easier than crickets.

I do miss my dubia colony so much. Crickets really don't bother me but they are definitely more expensive in the long run. I had to get medium instead of large the other day and he is eating almost 60 of them a day!

Oh my, why the change or is that all they had? Yes, a dubia colony is sure worth having! Did you hear about the lower rate yet? Either way, you have the house, right?

Looks like I will not be getting the house :(, they are wanting a bigger down payment than I was expecting and I just don't have it. I am so sad, I was really excited about it.

Awww, Lindz, they couldn't have told you that at the beginning? I'm so sorry to hear this, but hopefully there will be another house in your future.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
