Finn, Venus and Jupiter: New beardie baby!

Spyro is my first bearded dragon and I brought him home on the 27th. He came from an individual that was not giving him the proper care: No uvb, feeding mealworms, sand, UTH instead of basking light, etc. They had been misinformed by a pet store employee (big surprise there). I wanted to start this thread so I and everyone else can watch Spyro as he grows.

About me: My name is Lindsey, I am 25 years old. I have a 6 year old daughter with Angelman Syndrome and she a happy little girl that teaches me something new everyday. I have a 4 year old boy named Garrett that shares my love of animals and he loves Spyro as much as I do. I have 3 dogs: Remington(Remi) is a 1 1/2 year old boxer, Tucker is my shihtzu mix, and the mighty Kujo, a toy poodle weighing in a 4.5 lbs. I also have 3 leopard geckos: Venus, Loki, and Thor. I am attending school full time to become a surgical tech. My life is chaotic, but that's the way I like it.

I will update every once in a while with new pictures. When I got him he was in shed.... and still is. I am getting impatient to see this guy brighten up!

Thanks! I didn't realize how red he was until I picked him up, he is definitely a looker. Hopefully he will continue to eat, I am still waiting for the relocation stress to kick in and him to stop eating. We will see.

I'm glad you chose Thorn for a name, it suits him. He doesn't look annoyed to be in the bath, which is great and I'm hoping he'll continue eating as he's begun. Some dragons don't get relocation stress, maybe he'll be one of them. he sure is a cutie

I am hoping he doesn't stop eating, and he doesn't seem to mind a bath, I tried to get him out last night and the dogs startled him a bit so I put him back.

Well Thorn ate like a champ again today, over 30 crickets! Finn has been eating his salad well and he will be getting roaches tomorrow.

Well Thorn ate another 20 crickets after I got out of work today so that is 50 crickets total and almost all his salad. What a good boy!

Finn also discovered Thorn today. My son wanted to hold Finn, he caught sight of Thorn and then the black bearding, head bobbing fest began and continued even after lights out lol, and Thorn just continued to bask, I swear nothing phases that little guy

Doesn't surprise me that Finn is put out to have another male in the house. Wait until Thorn goes thru puberty, then you'll have a bobbing fest x2 going on, like in my house. I swear, Nathaniel has the same black beard that Lonzo had :mrgreen: And it seems to be on until he sleeps. Same with Gabriel :lol:

The bobbing and bearding has continued this morning. I keep telling him that he's the boss lol.

Thorn ate fantastic again this morning, 30+ crickets, but boy is he hard to handle, he is fiesty!

Roaches should be here sometime today

Bet he'll love roaches so much you won't have to deal with crickets unless you run out. And he's fiesty? So is Nathaniel. He jumped into Gabriel's tank while I was at work yesterday, luckily Gabriel was on the ramp, so I've put a 9" partition there now. My heart almost stopped when I couldn't find him in his tank, found him in Gabriel's standing upright in the corner, sound asleep. Brat!

Oh my gosh! I would have panicked too!! What a stinker!! Good thing that Gabriel was out on the ramp!

Well Thorn is now 82 grams, so up 3 from the other day! He is so quick, he tries to squirm out of hands.

I got quite a few roaches but I will probably have to let them build up a bit before I can feed out of it every day especially with a baby in the house again

Thanks Esther, I honestly wasn't sure what I was getting myself into with him but I was pleasantly surprised. He is an active, alert, eating and pooping machine lol.
