It looks good so far. Maybe, if someone can...when you see something shocking in a petstore...like an especially skinny animal or over crowding, take a picture with your phone or something. Then that can be posted to the Facebook.

Katie, you might want to check out the posts on here about Petco and Petsmart. If I remember correctly not too long ago there was a post or two that had pics in it taken from the petstore. If you find them, then just ask the people that posted if you can use it on the facebook page. You can also get some pics of the damage that is done at petstores on this site also (LG comes to mind, that sweet girl).

Wow, go to work and all of a sudden this has hit 4 pages! I wish I would have gotten that picture of the leopard gecko drowned in its water bowl. It was horrible but I never thought to take a picture.

I haven't started the petition yet but I will have it up tonight by 5PM central time.

I'm still unclear on whether or not we're all on the same page. We are fighting for better regulations for the live animals (reptiles) in pet stores correct? If so then I'll mess with some wording and post them here before I make the page, I'm not sure if you can edit it once it's submitted.

Katie007-- thats great! Even if they don't do anything yet you got it out there and that's the most important. If we contact them again later if (hopefully when) this gets bigger they will already be aware if it

Zeus, I do not believe Jason will mind if you use LG's story. On LG's thread if you look at page 93 (I think), someone asks if they can use his story and his reply was

"Absolutely, feel free to use the Youtube vid. The more people who see what could happen the better. Knowledge is power."

I think it would be a great idea to try to get ahold of him, but I do know he has been having lots of health problems lately. Try PMing

The thing you need to use the most is the horrible Rescue situations people put themselves in so they can save the life of a reptile.

This will display the fact that chain stores give horrible advice to their customers.

Personally Katie I don't think that letter is very good. You are not giving them a story. It sounds like your pleading them. If we ever want this to get anywhere we need to sound more professional.

It is a "story"...what kind of story do you propose would be appropriate and professional? And I'm am pleading with them to take notice. why don't you write something better then and you can send it out to who ever you want.

and, no offense, the only thing iv seen you doing so far is saying you'll ask other people to write articles or post a banners on THEIR websites. asking other people to do things really isn't getting anything done. I'm just saying, at least I'm trying. and if i have to plead for the attention ill do it...

I do agree that this need to be done very professionally. No shorthand and the best spelling/grammar that we can. Stories are also a very useful tool in this sort of thing and that could be something great to put in the blog but to many stories and it's just get to tiring to read. But we're trying to juggle three different websites and I'm not even sure how many people are working in this, 3, 4, 5?

Point being we've only had this thread up for 24 hours. Maybe we need to take a step back and plan this out more, gather information and really lay out what we want where and what the purpose of the different sites are and what they need to cover. Otherwise, at least this is how I feel, we're all just kind of running with this and doing our own thing. It doesn't really feel like an organized effort...

Maybe we need to set up certain responsibilities? That way everyone is clear about what they should do. Might be more organized that way?
